We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position in our manufacturing industry, where you will play a crucial role in managing our company's financial operations. You will work closely with our financial team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial data, and contribute significantly to our company's financial strategy and planning.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing and managing our company's inventory accounting, ensuring accurate valuation and cost analysis.
2. Maintaining and managing the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
3. Preparing and posting journal entries, including accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications.
4. Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
5. Performing variance analyses and preparing account reconciliations.
6. Assisting with internal and external audits, ensuring all requested documentation is provided in a timely manner.
7. Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
8. Providing support to the financial team in budgeting and forecasting activities.
9. Keeping up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.
10. Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
3. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.
4. In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Strong experience with inventory accounting, ledger management, and manufacturing accounting.
6. Excellent analytical skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. The ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
9. The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
10. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
