We are currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Staff Accountant for a permanent position in our dynamic manufacturing company. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to join a thriving team and make a significant impact by helping us streamline our financial processes and procedures. The Sr. Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers; preparing and analyzing budgets; and performing general bookkeeping. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and efficient team player with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, and drives for results.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and maintain accurate monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
2. Ensure compliance with all internal and external accounting and financial policies, regulations, and standards.
3. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis.
4. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
5. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
6. Coordinate and complete annual audits.
7. Meet financial accounting objectives.
8. Reconcile accounts as needed and resolve any discrepancies.
9. Prepare reports for bank compliance.
10. Work closely with the finance team to improve financial procedures.
Qualifications:
1. BA/BS in Accounting or related field.
2. 3+ years of experience as a Sr. Staff Accountant or in a similar role in the manufacturing industry.
3. Comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel, and familiarity with relevant accounting software.
5. Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Experience with creating financial statements.
10. Excellent knowledge of statutory legislation and regulations.
11. Professional certification (e.g. CMA, CPA) is a plus.
