Medline Industries, LP is seeking experienced Sr. Solution Architect(s) (Corporate Functions) to provide technical leadership and manage the overall solution design for systems that
enable corporate operations teams to leverage technology effectively, drive business value and operational efficiency. Additionally, this position requires collaboration with IT leaders,
functional experts, and technical teams to ensure that the design and implementation of objectives align with sponsor goals and enterprise architecture practices.
Job responsibilities and duties include:
- Understand corporate management principles and support business drivers and capabilities (both current and future states).
- Identify corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the organization toward its targeted business outcomes.
- Generate comprehensive design specifications to document architecture decisions; communicate these architectural specifications clearly and unambiguously to designers, developers, contractors, and business sponsors in a manner that is directly actionable.
- Identify the scalability, resiliency, quality, supportability, implementation speed, and total cost of ownership of the solutions being implemented.
- Serve as a consultant across diverse technologies, platforms and vendor offerings while maintaining alignment with the overall Enterprise Architecture practice.
- Coordinate architecture design reviews to verify that solution designs fulfill both functional and non-functional requirements, including security, compliance, system scalability, and reliability.
- Establish principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns, and ensure their widespread adoption and implementation.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to evaluate and assess new technologies to ensure compliance with Medline standards.
- Work closely with IT leaders and application owners to maintain current application and technical inventories, as well as to develop future roadmaps within the Corporate Functions portfolio.
- Develop an expertise in business processes and utilized technologies, while obtaining a comprehensive understanding of the current application and service landscape.
- Stay up to date on back-office platforms and technology trends within the Healthcare industry, including researching and implementing new or alternative technologies to advance business objectives and gain competitive advantages.
- Collaborate with vendor and development teams to ensure that build activities align with agreed service and technical architectures.
- Consistently maintain a professional demeanor and take proactive measures to manage and mitigate portfolio risks.
This position has no direct reports and does not supervise the work of any other employees.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or any related IT or Engineering field of study, plus at least five (5) years of
post-degree, progressively responsible experience in any related position(s) through which the required experience was gained. Employer will accept a foreign degree equivalent.
Qualified applicants must also have demonstrable proficiency, skill, experience, or knowledge with the following:
1. Technical experience with back-office platforms / ERPs.
2. Demonstrated experience supporting Cost Accounting, Revenue Accounting, SG&A Accounting, Financial Planning, Performance and Financial Reporting.
3. Experience with two (2) or more of the following collaboration and system integration tools: FinTech, HRIS, LMS, Talent Acquisition, Expense Reporting, Digital Records, or eSignature.
4. Demonstrated experience with large-scale enterprise platform rationalization, modernization, and transformation.
5. Integration methodologies including ETL, EDI, asynchronous messaging, service-based integration, and file transfer patterns.
6. Implementing Web Service Integration (REST v2, SOAP), APIs, course grained, and micro services.
7. Demonstrated knowledge of Application Performance Monitoring & Management tools Partnership with application delivery teams, which includes DevOps, unit testing, CI/CD, security
testing, performance, and load testing.
8. Demonstrated experience working with multi-site global teams and Agile/SCRUM delivery.
No Travel required. Work from home (WFH) benefit available; Medline supports a hybrid work schedule and offers WFH on Mondays and Fridays. Individuals are required to be located
within the greater Chicagoland region. The WFH policy is subject to change and can be restricted in cases of poor performance and/or low quality of service.
