Universal Audio is looking for a talented system software engineer with an interest in developing highly efficient audio solutions in an embedded Linux environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a low-latency audio subsystem on an embedded Linux platform.
- Design and develop device drivers for multiple interconnects (USB, PCIe, and SOC) with a focus on minimizing latency.
- Bring up new platforms and SOCs.
- Create reusable, maintainable software and appropriate technical documentation.
- Maintain high-quality standards and drive process improvement.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience developing and debugging Linux device drivers.
- Experience developing USB devices using the Linux Gadget and USB APIs.
- Experience configuring and building embedded Linux environments using tools like Yocto.
- Strong working knowledge of the C and C++ programming languages.
- Experience with Python would be beneficial.
- Ability to work to a deadline, from decomposing complex projects into actionable tasks and developing a plan through working the plan to deliver the project in a predictable way.
- Generally, at least five years of professional software development experience.
- Musical interests preferred. Do you play an instrument or create computer music? Maybe you are a student of music history? We're passionate about what we do and are looking for teammates that share our passion.
- Exposure to, or experience with music creation software preferred.
- Experience with UA products preferred.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and/or equivalent work experience required.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and/or equivalent work experience preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
UA Salary Range/Hourly Rate of Pay: California Salary Range = $140K - $175K
Base salary/hourly rate of pay will be based on the cost of labor for the city/state in which the new hire resides, at the time of hire.
