About the Job
Maxmus is seeking a Sr Software Developer that will maintain and improve existing IT systems focusing on supporting health and research programs. The candidate will work with stakeholders to determine operational needs, design new IT solutions/functionalities using existing and emerging technology platforms to improve efficiency and effectiveness as needed. Systems typically supported from this role use .NET, C#, MAUI, Xamarin, Blazor, and integrate with SQL databases. The candidate must be able to work well independently or as part of a larger team.
**This role is remote, however candidate must reside near client's office in Morgantown, WV and Pittsburgh, PA area**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide design and implementation expertise to a cross-functional software development team.
- Design and develop software applications from business requirements in collaboration with other team members.
- Support testing and remediate defects.
- May mentor entry and mid-level developers.
Project Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
-Design software solutions per systems requirements.
-Lead the development of software solutions that will meet or exceed business requirements; the development effort includes designing and implementing modules to the system specifications, conducting unit testing, troubleshooting issues, and producing detailed proposals to resolve issues.
-Work closely with other engineers, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions.
-Apply engineering principles to software development, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
-Evaluate new coding techniques, tools, modules, and implementation as appropriate.
-Lead and mentor entry and mid-level developers.
-Consult on requirements elicitation and definition.
-Code reviews, unit test, and integrate coded modules.
-Assist other developers in resolving issues by providing guidance and training.
-Support testing and remediate defects.
-Investigate new solutions, tools, products, and techniques to incorporate into coding standards.
-Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.
-Strong problem solving and critical thinking.
-Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain competitive.
-Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and practices.
-Ability to perform all job duties in compliance with HIPAA guidelines and company confidentiality policies.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 5-7 years of related experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
Project Specific Requirements and Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
-May have additional training or education in area of specialization
-5 to 7 year experience conducting and/or supporting IT projects
-4+ years of development experience using .NET technologies
-Experience with mobile application (Android/iOS) development
-Proficient in coding using C#, Python, SQL, Java, TypeScript, JavaScript
-Experience with MS Visual Studio, Android Studio
-Experience with HTML/CSS, Bootstrap, JSON, Angular, and JQuery
-Familiarity with 508 compliances
Preferred Requirements/Skills:
-Knowledge of Confluence and JIRA
-Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development

-Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust - Moderate Risk security clearance
-United States Citizenship
-Locale -Pittsburg, PA or Morgantown, WV

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
