Sr. Scientist - Structural Biology at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

We are seeking a Senior Scientist to join our growing Structural Biology group, part of the Therapeutic Proteins department. This position is primarily focused on cryo-electron microscopy of molecules in Regeneron's drug development pipeline, including membrane proteins, large multi-protein assemblies, and antibody-target complexes. As a Senior Scientist in the Structural Biology group, a typical day might include:

• Characterizing and purifying protein complexes, freezing grids, collecting cryoEM data

• Conducting single-particle cryoEM map refinement, structure determination, and structure analysis

• Conducting cryoET data collection, tomogram reconstruction and interpretation

• Predicting protein features such as viscosity or aggregation propensity from large datasets

• Meeting with colleagues from different departments across Research & Preclinical Development to discuss their projects and design insightful structural experiments

• Presenting results to varying audiences

This role might be for you if you:

• Are highly collaborative and can work well in groups of scientists from different fields

• Have the ability to explain complex structural biology data to an audience of non-specialists, as well as the ability to rapidly absorb information from other fields such as immunology, oncology, or cell biology

• Have excellent record-keeping and time management skills - you will be working on many different projects at the same time

In order to be considered for this role, you must have at least a Ph.D. in Structural Biology or related field and 0-5 years of relevant experience or a BS/MS and 8-10 years of relevant experience. Must have experience in cryo-electron microscopy, X-ray crystallography, or computational structural biology. Experience with protein purification and characterization is strongly preferred. Direct experience with membrane proteins will be an advantage. Must have a demonstrated track record of independent research including one or more first-author publications.
