Job Details:
Our Client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sr Accountant to join our reinsurance team. This is a REMOTE position that offers you the opportunity to work from anywhere in the Eastern or Central Time Zones; offering you the perfect balance between your professional and personal life. As a part of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing reinsurance financial transactions, statutory filings, and regulatory reports for our offshore reinsurer clients. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy and compliance in all accounting activities related to reinsurance, billings, and collateral.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage the preparation and analysis of reinsurance financial statements and statutory filings, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
2. Oversee the reconciliation and maintenance of reinsurance accounts, including Schedule F.
3. Prepare and submit BE-45 (BEA Survey) and other regulatory reports.
4. Coordinate with offshore reinsurers for accurate and timely billings.
5. Manage the collateral process for reinsurance contracts and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
6. Analyze and interpret reinsurance contracts, ensuring proper accounting treatment for all transactions.
7. Collaborate with the property and casualty (P&C) team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of reinsurance transactions.
8. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures related to reinsurance.
9. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. At least 3 years of experience in reinsurance accounting, with a strong understanding of statutory accounting principles (STAT) and Schedule F.
3. Proficiency in BE-45 and BEA Survey reporting.
4. Solid experience with offshore reinsurer billings and collateral management.
5. Comprehensive knowledge of property and casualty (P&C) reinsurance.
6. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex reinsurance contracts and transactions.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software.
9. Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
10. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
11. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Reinsurance Professional (CRP) designation is preferred but not required.
