Sr. Quality Engineer - Supplier Quality (2024-030) Astronics Subsidiary Astronics AES Location Kirkland, WA Description **JOB SUMMARY** Our Supplier Quality Engineers develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance procedures for sourcing reliable materials and processing them into products that meet customer and regulatory requirements. They are responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring compliance of suppliers with internal and external processes, safety, quality, and regulatory standards requirements. **DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES** + Oversee and manage quality performance of domestic and international suppliers + Build collaborating relationships with supply chain, manufacturing engineering, program management, and design engineering to resolve supplier quality or performance issues + Perform supplier audits domestically and international + Resolve issues identified with suppliers in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. (Experience with CCA and PWB is desired) + Drive improvement efforts in the supplier quality processes to implement a risk based approach to supplier oversight + Provide trainings inside or outside the Quality organization on established process, procedures, and systems + Facilitate root cause analysis and perform corrective action + Provide recommendations and guidance on process improvements to the Quality team while maintaining compliance with industry standards + Assist in establishing, implementing, and maintaining inspection methods that support better precision + Provide guidance on interpretation and intent of in0house and/or external specifications and standards (e.g. AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001) **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS** **Education/Experience:** + Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline (Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Material Science, Computer Science, or similar), preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of Engineering degree. + Competency in the duties of this role which is usually achieved with 5+ years of direct experience is required while proficiency in the duties, which is typically achieved with 8+ years of direct experience, is preferred, and may qualify you for a more senior level QE role. + Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required (about 25%). **Experience in the following skills is required, while proficiency is preferred:** + Supplier auditing + ERP, PLM, and Intranet + Problem solving techniques + Brainstorming techniques + Project management + Risk assessment methods + Statistical analysis + Lean Six Sigma green belt skills - Preferred + Lead Auditor certification - Preferred **ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS** + Must be a US Person (under ITAR rules) to be eligible + An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a drug test and background check. **Base salary range for a Sr Supplier Quality Engineer is $86,430 - $129,645 per year.
