The Senior Project Manager has full technical responsibility for the organization, implementation, execution and coordination of the support and program management within the New Rail Vehicles program. This position's primary responsibility is directing and overseeing all aspects of the planning, design and procurement of new rail vehicles for our client which includes managing subordinate staff in the Rail Equipment Engineering and Maintenance group.
Senior Project Managers are responsible for serving as the primary point of contact for contractor and consultant and primary level of decision-making for approval of submittals.
Senior Project Managers must have extensive knowledge of engineering and business practices applicable to managing vehicle procurement. Activities include the management, development and application of rail operations planning and capital, operations, and maintenance cost modeling.
This position is responsible for undertaking diverse project management assignments that are considered to be of high complexity in size and scope. As Senior Project Manager, the successful candidate will be involved in design, manufacture, and support of vehicles and its subsystems, this position is responsible for defining and coordinating in-house and third-party tasks of high complexity.
The Senior Project Manager must come in contact with many people at higher organizational levels, both within and outside the organization. His/Her contacts include Assistant General Managers and Department Managers within the organization, as well as consulting and contact firms Vice Presidents, and Federal, State, City, and local government officials.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible rail vehicle related experience required, including extensive knowledge of engineering and business practices applicable to managing vehicle programs required.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required.
- Extensive knowledge in vehicle systems required.
- Extensive experience in computer applications within field of study required.
- Valid drivers license required.
Compensation
$104,000 - $130,000/year
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
