- Develop and maintain "lessons-learned” inputs to the project repository for utilization on future programs
- Work closely with the Program Executive Sponsor, Operating Committee and Steering Committee to facilitate decisions necessary for delivery and to overcome barriers
- Resolve political, resource, budgeting, change, and legal issues affecting the program.
- Serves as a mentor/advisor/decision-maker to project managers for the program for issues related to corporate politics, external politics, client relations, governmental regulation, project quality, project risk, and safety.
- Oversee development of proposals and requests for proposals associated with the program.
Interactions -
- Global implementation effort with multiple Medium to Large Complex projects being managed will typically have:
- Individual team members from 8-12 cross functional teams and business sectors
- 2-4 Service providers needed to deliver key portions of the solution, which will include infrastructure, applications, and several interdisciplinary teams to support execution
- Serves as the leader of a multi-person project management team
- Joint executive program sponsors which requires project manager to gain consensus and set expectations
- Involve multiple technology area with solution design (network circuits, laptop clients, VM server, etc.)
- Global business customers impacted by program delivery involving multiple sector geographies
- Oversee global program team activities by influencing cross functional team members without direct line of authority (daily)
- Effective communication with executive sponsor(s), Sr Director/VP, in customer organization (weekly)
- Status presentation and Stage Gate approval meeting with Directors and Sr Directors (Monthly)
- Serve as first level of escalation from Project Managers assigned to program
- IT Services Suppliers coordination to deliver needed IT Services required for project delivery
- Works with EPMO Portfolio Manager to align on key project artifacts and gains alignment on project governance
- Schedule, budget and scope constraints that cause pressure on delivery
