Sr. Project Manager - Energy Efficiency

Duration: 8+ month contract
USPRO has a new opportunity for a Project Manager to join a team in Chicago in the support of the design, construction, and successful implementation of multi-million energy projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily construction, administrative and technical management of renewable construction projects delivering energy savings for public, institutional, government and commercial customers;
- Assist management as required with project accounting, budgeting, project schedule and tracking, reporting quality management, and internal communications;
- Ensure compliance with Company’s financial policies and procedures to include revenue recognition policies and project set up rules. Serve and assist as a liaison between the business office and operations;
- Direct interface with customers, managing customer service, relationships and contractual obligations;
- Assist the Engineering and Development team and the Senior Project Manager in project design and development including scope, subcontractor selection, cost estimation, installation and project scheduling;
- Regularly monitor assigned project performance and cost estimates to forecast estimates through to project completion for reasonableness against plans and actual expense rate;
- Review subcontractor and vendor bids solicited by the Senior Project Manager to help determine scope, schedule, timely delivery for all project related materials, equipment and construction services;
- Assist the Senior Project Manager in managing vendors and subcontractors to ensure quality control, project delivery on time and on budget while meeting or exceeding customer expectations;
- Directly manage construction managers (site supervisors) as assigned to ensure quality control, project delivery on time and on budget while meeting or exceeding customer expectations;
- Maintain and update project schedules to reflect current information, monitor critical path activities and tracking of outstanding items;
- Provide a detailed 2 week look schedule to facilitate customer coordination and planning;
- Managing project expenditures and job cost accounting processes: including accuracy, documentation, approvals, payment reporting, monthly forecasting and tracking;
- Ensure compliance with company, industry, customer and jurisdictional safety standards, practices and codes;
- Travel required;
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with large-scale chilled water plant projects is strongly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 10 years industrial power, electrical, mechanical, or engineering construction project management experience focusing on complex facility infrastructure construction, renovations, retrofits, upgrades, building controls and automaton, and energy services.
Additional Qualifications:
- Completion or progress toward engineering, technical, or industry-related education preferred.
- Demonstrated work experience with several of the following energy efficiency disciplines - direct digital energy controls systems, variable frequency drives, high efficiency motors, central plant chiller and boiler installations, lighting retrofits, renewable energy technology, warranty and service requirements preferred. Experience with large-scale chilled water plant projects is strongly preferred
- Proven experience with OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships.
- Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Project.
- Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by resident state.
