Our Civil Engineering team in our San Diego, CA office has an opportunity for a talented Senior Project Engineer/Civil Engineer to support our water/wastewater service line. Typical projects include planning and design of water or wastewater pipelines, pump stations, wells, reservoirs, and other facilities for clients such as the GSA, State of California, City of San Diego, and multiple San Diego-based Public Agencies and Water Districts. About being our Senior Project Engineer/Civil Engineer - Water
As a Senior Project Engineer/Civil Engineer, you will utilize your knowledge and expertise in water and wastewater to organize and execute the technical quality and coordination of a broad range of project assignments in all aspects of the planning and design of water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure projects, while understanding client goals, establishing effective client relationships, and supporting the team to achieve set goals.
Responsibility Highlights for our Senior Project Engineer/Civil Engineer - Water
- Work on water/waste-water projects, which may include research and analysis, sewer drainage, pipelines, pump stations and reservoirs.
- Prepare plans and profiles, compiling research and development of technical reports, calculations, cost/quantity estimates, and specifications in order to provide clear, traceable, and coordinated interpretation of the design / drawings for construction.
- Work with fellow team members and supervisors to provide all necessary design, coordination, and follow-up work to ensure agency requirements and quality standards are met
- Assist and lead efforts for agency approvals and be familiar with local regulatory requirements and procedures
- Develop sewer/water models
- Develop and track schedule, budget, and scope of services
- Participate in site visits, client meetings, QA/QC and represent Psomas and client to agencies and contractors
- Provide supervision, mentoring and training to technical engineering staff; assign projects to engineers with timetables for completion; provide technical assistance and review the work of assigned employees
Minimum Qualifications to be our Senior Project Engineer/Civil Engineer - Water
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- California Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Minimum 12+ years of civil/water engineering industry experience
- Design of pipelines, pump stations, water production wells, reservoir facilities, and lift stations
- Experience in providing technical supervision and training of engineers and designers
- Experience in writing technical specifications, preparation of engineer's estimates, and project scheduling
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D and experience in standard water/wastewater industry software

- A competitive salary! The expected range for this position is $120,000 - $145,000/salary depending on experience
Compensation may be adjusted for well qualified candidates - Discretionary bonus program
