Job Objective:
The Senior Program Manager has overall responsibility for planning, coordinating and executing new product development projects with the typical scope from definition through production startup. The role is instrumental in bringing clarity to the definition of the product development task, and heavily involved with customers, International engineering teams and production facilities.
The successful candidate must be an excellent communicator, flexible and a quick learner as customer base encompasses diverse product categories such as: medical, industrial and consumer products - leveraging some if not all engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical, software and Industrial design.
The senior PM requires minimal direction and is expected to handle complex projects as well as multiple projects simultaneously. A senior PM demonstrates leadership internally and with customers and provides technical leadership to the team and project. A senior PM mentors, trains and assists other members of their teams in technically difficult situations and drives difficult issues to resolution, all while keeping the project stakeholders up to date on project status and forecasted completion dates.
Job Responsibilities include:
1. Generates a detailed schedule for new product development projects.
2. Works with project team to identify risks and enact mitigation plans.
3. Heavy customer interactions to clearly determine the project definition and objectives.
4. Works with the technical team to design and test the new product…
5. Complies with all Quality System Procedures and Work Instructions.
6. Facilitates communication between functions, within affiliates and customers generally through the product development life cycle.
7. Forecasts resource needs and works with the Engineering Department’s management group across all affiliates to align resources with project tasks.
8. Materials management throughout the development process, pilot run and into production startup.
9. Serves as overall champion for driving the project to meet its objectives.
10. Manage all project documentation as required by the Product Development Process.
11. Publishes regular and timely project status updates.
12. Generates, tracks and manages project budget, including resource hours, development costs and unit costs. Provides regular updates forecasting remaining project expenses.
13. Assumes the primary communication role with the customer for all development related aspects of the project. Works in coordination and supports the Account Manager for customer pricing, development charges and business relationship issues.
14. Leads costing effort while supporting quoting activities of new business opportunities.
15. Makes good use of time and is able to set priorities to meet organizational and departmental goals.
16. Accept responsibility and identifies when additional authorization is required to resolve an issue by including management or others when appropriate.
17. Mentors less experienced Project Managers, assisting them with technical problems; training them on correct project management methods; sharing knowledge and encouraging job and skill growth.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None - except under special assignments within the development team.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific discipline (i.e. Engineering); with a minimum of five years of related work experience.
- Knowledge of Engineering Product Development.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Time sensitive (quickly responsive)
- Able to work well with all levels of employees and customers.
- Professional in tact, manner, and action.
- Appropriate balance between project supervision and coordination skills as well as technical engineering skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
