POSITION TITLE: Sr. Product Manager-Security
REPORTS TO: VP Sales and Marketing
This professional must enjoy conducting structured voice-of-the-customer interviews to gain first-hand understanding of customers and channel issues, market trends based on evolving end customer needs, price elasticity, and identifying innovative solutions to capture market opportunities. The Sr. Product Manager defines product roadmaps and intersects them with needed technological innovations at cost points that facilitate rapid adoption and deployment. This role heavily influences the go-to-market strategy, including product positioning and key benefits for target customers and channels, serve as an external champion for the company by making presentations at conferences, speaking to media representatives, and working closely with engineering, project management, technical support, customer service, sales, channel partners and customers to ensure execution and realization of goals and objectives.
Key DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain market intelligence to ensure product relevance and marketability. Market intelligence includes knowledge of end-user needs, customer experience, key competitors, channel needs, channel dynamics, industry trends, and legislative and regulatory changes.
- Collaboration across departments.
- Facilitate strategic planning initiatives leveraging industry knowledge and trend data through the ownership and active participation in voice-of-the customer research.
- Champion the formal Product Development Process kickoff with validated requirements, performance specifications and financial justification.
- Manage customer feedback by agilely navigating the decision-making and execution of customer responses, including associated costs and success factors.
- Manage pricing, to achieve gross margin and profitability goals while ensuring market needs are continually met.
- Drive to root-cause on corrective actions and suggest, lead, or participate in relevant process improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the marketing communication team in brand management, product positioning, pricing and value propositions used in launch, promotional campaigns and required field announcements.
- Develop and maintain product strategy, product roadmap, and related business cases. Communicate and inspire the rest of the organization in developing new products. Negotiate and prioritize between projects and initiatives to meet market windows.
- Support, and evaluate, the development of new business partnerships or acquisitions as needed to achieve corporate objectives or enhance existing product strategies.
- Present technical and functional product values at industry events, conferences, organizations and to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Vet new product ideas based on Inovonics product edicts and strategy. (Based on the discussion about ideas can come from anywhere, but Sr. Product Manager determines if they move forward to the next stage or not.
- Partner with Inovonics technical leads to determine how to use emerging technology to bring viable offerings to the market.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A demonstrated passion for product ownership, customer advocacy, lifecycle management and the ability to lead the organization.
- Prior sensor experience, demonstrating the ability to simplify and communicate technical concepts (commercial security related sensor experience preferred).
- Prior system integration experience demonstrating sensor integration with higher level software (commercial security related system integration experience preferred).
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization and clearly express conceptual ideas visually, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to take calculated risks, make difficult business decisions and communicate impact of such decisions to the leadership team.
- Ability to read and understand financial data related to products, proposals, and company/competitor performance.
- Ability to thrive with minimal supervision under the guidance of Inovonics core values.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years experience in product management.
- 3+ years experience managing utility submetering systems, wireless sensor networks or other industrial/medical grade integrated sensor based systems.
- Technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and MBA.
- Demonstrated Business Development and New Product Introduction experience.

Salary range $150k-$165k
