About the Job
PURPOSE
- To ensure that all customer requirements are met with regard to manufacturing, quality and delivery for tooling (molding process parameters, molds, fixtures, gages).
- To provide leadership to the Molding Technical staff relative to the performance of their duties and responsibilities.
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with all of the customers and vendors
- To work with the management to seek new customers and supportive vendors that will aid our quest to grow our company.
- To provide support for all Quality activities for Forum Plastics Inc.
- To implement the company’s Quality Policy and ensure that the requirements of ISO 13485-2016 and other applicable industry standards are maintained.
2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES/AUTHORITY
- Review mold and tool designs to improve quality of manufacturing results.
- Review designs for new tooling, customer change notices, gages, fixtures, and jigs.
- Support all Project Managers to facilitate the timely completion of all new mold construction projects and ensure established timelines are met.
- Provide molding technical support for existing and new customers.
- Develop and implement manufacturing / engineering programs to improve overall operations.
3.0 DUTIES
Major
- Project management of new tooling / products from inception thru to production realization
- Facilitate meetings with customers to review mold designs.
- Develop and maintain a high level of communication with all departments
- Guide the selection, ordering and implementation of new equipment, and facilities improvements as required.
- Provide inputs for cost and feasibility for new mold construction as required.
Minor
- Support the Molding Technicians with timely ordering of supplies and components.
- Develop and implement process improvements for molding, tooling, printing and all other manufacturing operations.
- Help and guide Molding Technicians to receive and participate in trainings in their discipline to build their inventory of skills.
4.0 EDUCATION
- Engineering degree or equivalent work experience.
5.0 EXPERIENCE
- 10 years plus in Manufacturing or Engineering.
- 10 years plus of molding / process engineering related to precision injection molded parts.
- Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding processes related to medical devices.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and policies. Knowledge of OSHA practices desirable.
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures, and policies. OSHA background helpful.
- Spanish speaking, reading, and writing bilingual ability a plus.
- SOLIDWORKS proficiency a plus.
- Microsoft Office skills required (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).bilingual ability required, read and write fluency helpful.
