CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Permitting & Environmental Scientist to join our Infrastructure – Bridge Team at our office in Hartford, CT.
YOUR IMPACT:CHA’s bridge team has been recognized as one of the leading innovators in the industry. We are on the forefront of bridge design developing new solutions that reduce cost and maintenance and utilize accelerated bridge construction (ABC) techniques to reduce road closure impacts. We incorporate collaborative and diverse thinking with practical and cost-effective designs that responsibly improve mobility and safety throughout the United States.
In this key lead role at CHA, our Senior Permitting & Environmental Scientists plan technically complex work varying in size, and execute field investigations with a solid knowledge of proper sampling techniques. The professionals in these roles are masters at appropriately reviewing, evaluating, and interpreting data and regulations, leading, and developing permit applications and other materials in support of projects; they are true advocates for company’s standards for quality control and compliance. Our Senior Permitting & Environmental Scientists play an important role in reviewing background information for projects with critical thinking and understanding of the bigger picture, as well as directing and mentoring other scientists on the team.

REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or related field
- Valid US driver's license required
- Minimum of 10 years related experience required
- NEPA experience preferred
- CTDOT/MassDOT experience preferred
- Has a proficient theoretical scientific knowledge
- Experience with Microsoft Word & Excel as well as ArcMap or basic GIS Mapping required
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
- Desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist colleagues
- Must have the ability to work in the field in different weather conditions
- Must be able to physically navigate in the field
$88,000 - $111,000
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
