We are currently seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Senior Paralegal with a focus on ideally both Family and Criminal Law to join our dynamic legal team. However, if you have experience with only one and not the other, please still apply.
This is a permanent, full-time position on site where you will play a vital role in managing and driving forward cases, providing expert paralegal support to our team of attorneys. You will be working on a variety of family and criminal law cases, including domestic relations and divorce law. This position is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal who is looking for a challenging role and the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Paralegal, you will be responsible for a broad range of duties, including but not limited to:
1. Assisting attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings, and attending them when necessary.
2. Conducting thorough legal research and fact-checking to ensure the accuracy of case-related documents.
3. Drafting legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and subpoenas.
4. Organizing and maintaining documents in a paper or electronic filing system.
5. Assisting with the preparation and finalizing of divorce settlements and domestic relations matters.
6. Managing client relationships and handling initial client interviews.
7. Coordinating law office activities such as subpoena delivery.
8. Liaising between attorneys, clients, and court personnel.
9. Ensuring all deadlines are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Paralegal position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably within family and criminal law.
2. Extensive knowledge of domestic relations and divorce law.
3. Proven experience as a criminal paralegal.
4. A paralegal certificate or degree from an accredited institution.
5. Exceptional research skills and proficiency in legal research tools.
6. Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of documents and prioritize work.
7. Strong written and oral communication skills.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
9. Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
10. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.
11. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
