Exciting Opportunity: Sr. Oracle DBA – Oracle Data/Database Administration

Join us as a Sr. Oracle DBA in a fully remote position based in the dynamic Austin, TX area. This critical role supports enterprise-level database systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability for a high-demand project.
Position Details:
- Location: Remote (Austin, TX area residency required).
- Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (excluding State holidays).
- Start Date: January 20, 2025.
- Duration: Through August 31, 2025.
- Compensation: $56.67/hour.
About the Role:
As a Sr. Oracle DBA, you'll take charge of maintaining Oracle databases on Oracle Exadata systems, leading performance tuning, disaster recovery enhancements, and security administration. Your expertise will support cloud migration initiatives, database refreshes, and development/testing environments. You'll also contribute to critical application support for MSSQL Server Enterprise and collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve database-related issues.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring database performance and implementing improvements.
- Developing tools to streamline administration for test and development environments.
- Managing Oracle RAC, Active Data Guard, and Exadata systems.
- Supporting database migrations to AWS cloud and multi-site datacenters.
- Administering user/database security and enhancing disaster recovery processes.
- Providing 24/7 on-call support and leading efforts during releases and maintenance weekends.
Candidate Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate:
- 8+ years of experience managing Oracle databases on Linux systems, including advanced SQL and PL/SQL scripting.
- Expertise in Oracle 19c, RAC, Active Data Guard, and Exadata systems.
- Strong background in database migrations, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), and multi-site database setups.
- Hands-on experience with MSSQL Server and EDB PostgreSQL Enterprise databases.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex database and infrastructure issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with ITSM tools such as Remedy, ServiceNow, and PPM.
- Experience with enterprise-level database security and accessibility standards.
