About the Job
Working under the general direction of the General Manager, Measuring & Memory, the Senior Operations Manager is empowered to manage the daily operations of all M&M production resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for creating and maximizing enterprise value by:
1. Maximizing customer satisfaction via best-in-class On Time Delivery performance (OTD), generally considered 95% or greater,
2. Maximizing Gross Margin (GM) at levels dictated by the Annual Operating Plan via effective management and utilization of personnel, materials, equipment, and time, to minimize and stabilize costs.
3. Ensuring product Quality via enforcement of the use of proper tools, processes, procedures, and work instructions, striving for escape-free operational performance with 0.25% scrap and 0.1% Customer Warranty Return (CWR) rate,
4. Developing a knowledgeable, agile, and empowered workforce via appropriate employee training initiatives,
5. Creating and supporting a culture of Accountability, Collaboration, and Empowerment among the production workforce.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Plan, lead and manage all functions necessary to manufacture and deliver Measuring and Memory products in accordance with the contract and other related requirements such as quality, procurement regulations, cost control/budgets, engineering change control, environmental compliance, safety, etc.
- Employ performance improvement principles to streamline processes. Establish and maintain metrics that track performance in areas such as quality, schedule, cost, delivery, etc.; monitor and implement corrective actions, as appropriate.
- Support the development and control of manufacturing budgets to attain company objectives.
- Present status reports and schedule Business Unit goals in accordance with company policy and federal/state regulations.
- Maintain high standard of performance expectations from managed employees through appropriate evaluations and training.
- Encourage and build a Continuous Improvement-centric culture such that the overall manufacturing operation demonstrates a trend of continuous improvement in all metrics. Plan and implement Lean activities to drive continuous process improvements.
- Conduct regular meetings to inform employees of operational objectives, general activities, company and actions.
- Conduct reviews consistent with ISO procedures.
- Support and enforce environmental and safety regulations.
Education/Experience:
- Broad knowledge of a general technical field such as manufacturing or electronics. Proficiency in Office 365. Fluent oral and written communication skills and ability to read/interpret schematics/blueprints. Bachelor’s degree in a business and/or technical discipline required.
- 10-15 years of Operations experience.
