Maximus is seeking a Senior Network/Security Engineer to play a pivotal role in maintaining and advancing our network and security infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned IT professional to contribute to projects critical to our operations while ensuring robust network performance and security.
**This role is remote, however candidate must be local or reside near client's office in Morgantown, WV area**

- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of network or telecommunications components to drive network efficiency and availability.
- Maintain network quality standards to achieve optimal levels of operation and KPI targets.
- Track and monitor network traffic and performance to ensure minimal interruption to network transmission and/or network switches.
- Correct network problems effectively and in a timely manner.
- Drive initiatives, industrialization, and efficiencies to network facilities for improvements (i.e., enhancements, updates, upgrades, and new systems).
- Establish tools and procedures to monitor network performance.
- Manage and support network devices, including routine changes, patching, and troubleshooting.
- Evaluate and recommend strategies, operations for monitoring, maintaining, and evolving network and security infrastructure.
- Develop new or update existing Standard Operating Procedures to enhance network support, network infrastructure, network architecture, and network security
- Lead/ participate in projects and operational tasks to support the needs of the network and security infrastructure.
- Develop network Visio Specific drawings stemming from Project's and continual update documentation
- Assist with external/internal network audits, Continuity of Operations Plans and Disaster Recovery Plans
- Research, evaluate, recommend, and implement new network and security infrastructure solutions.
Minimum Requirements
TCS165, T3, Band 6
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related field
- 6+ years related work experience with a PCNSE, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIA, CCNP certification or equivalent experience.
- Expertise with network infrastructure management tools including SolarWinds, Cisco ISE, Cisco Meraki WLC/Wireless and Panorama.
- Expertise with routers, switches, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VPNs, VLANs, encrypted tunnels, encryption technology, and wireless technology.
- Strong understanding of Palo Firewalls and Next Generation Firewalls features Layer2-3 up to Layer 7
- Working knowledge of SolarWinds, Network Topology Mapper and RedSeal.
- Working knowledge Cisco VoIP systems including CER, Jabber and RedSky - E911
- Working Knowledge of Teams
- Have a detailed understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP.
- Detail knowledge DHCP, DNS and InfoBlox
- Detail knowledge of VPN's
- Detailed knowledge with patches and upgrading Cisco IOS and Juniper IOS.
- Knowledge and experience with DNS, DHCP, and Internet-Based Domain Naming services and registration process.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills to lead/ participate in major incident and problem management activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to interface with team and the customer.
- Deep technical knowledge working across multiple applications, operating systems and devices required.
- Work closely with managers to determine the maintenance and growth needs of the infrastructure.
- Monitor changing technology and deliver a technology update to management as required.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning activities.
- Determine the rationale and methods for upgrading the IT Infrastructure as required
- Perform system changes, updates, and maintenance (note, will require working off hours including some nights and weekends)

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
