We are seeking a highly skilled, and experienced Senior Network Engineer to manage DCI networks, ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our network infrastructure. Your hands-on expertise in firewalls, SDWAN, Local Area Network management, VLAN management, and network security will ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our network.

Compensation: 85,000 - 95,000 per year
Hybrid in office 3 days a week. Only candidates in the Tampa Bay area will be considered.
Position Responsibilities
- Network Operations:
- Administer, manage, and troubleshoot LANs, WANs, WLAN, VLANs, including switches, routers, and access points (Fortinet, Meraki, Cisco, Linksys, EnGenius, etc.)
- Administer, manage, and troubleshoot all firewalls in the environment (Meraki, Fortinet, Sophos)
- Configure, administer, and troubleshoot SSL VPN, IPSec VPN, RADIUS, and ZTNA infrastructure (Meraki, Fortinet)
- Configure and troubleshoot SDWAN connectivity
- Network Design and Strategy:
- Develop and execute network design and expansion strategies that align with the organization's goals and growth plans.
- Continuously assess and plan for future network requirements.
- Architect, plan, and execute network infrastructure projects to enhance performance and reliability.
- Deploy and manage Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SDWAN) solutions to optimize network performance and efficiency.
- Ensure SDWAN configurations align with the company's goals for bandwidth optimization and reliability.
- Administer and troubleshoot all network related issues including firewalls, switches, routers, and access points.
- Monitor and optimize LAN performance to ensure seamless data flow.
- Network Management and Leadership:
- Lead and manage all aspects of DCI’s network planning, engineering, and management activities.
- Define and communicate clear objectives, expectations, and KPIs for areas of responsibility.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and provide expert-level support in resolving complex network issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address network-related challenges.
- Develop strategy to manage and maintain a full inventory of all network assets including circuits and network equipment.
- Network Security and Compliance:
- Implement security best practices, such as intrusion detection and prevention systems, anti-virus solutions, and access control mechanisms.
- Conduct periodic security assessments and vulnerability scans, addressing any identified weaknesses.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations relevant to network security.
- Configure and maintain firewalls to protect the network from unauthorized access and security threats.
- Continuously monitor and update firewall rules and policies.
- Create and manage Virtual LANs (VLANs) to segment and isolate network traffic as needed for security and efficiency.
- Configure and maintain inter-VLAN routing.
- Network Performance and Optimization:
- Monitor network performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks, outages, and inefficiencies.
- Plan and implement network optimization measures to enhance reliability and speed.
- Perform regular system upgrades and patch management to ensure network stability and security.
- Vendor and Budget Management:
- Evaluate and manage relationships with network service providers and vendors.
- Develop and manage the network department's budget, optimizing resources while maintaining service quality.
- Disaster Recovery and Redundancy Planning:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans and redundancy strategies to ensure network availability in the event of disruptions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant professional certification and training.
- Hands-on experience working with Meraki Cloud and Meraki hardware.
- Hands-on experience working with Fortinet Manager, FortiGate Firewalls, FortiSASE, FortiAnalyzer.
- Hands-on experience in designing, configuring, deploying, and managing large enterprise networks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience designing and managing large SDWAN.
- Strong knowledge with network monitoring tools.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
- A good understanding of industry standards, compliance regulations, and emerging technologies.
- Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are preferred.
- Fortinet and Meraki certification is preferred
