The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for:
Applying network engineering best practices to brainstorm best practices, deploy new solutions; leveraging experience to gage feasibility.
Working to maintain project vision and design during all phases of the development process; ensuring agility throughout development process.
Offering continuous technical guidance and support to stakeholder while implementing on prem network and cloud-based solutions; leading and participating in training sessions with stakeholders.
Providing defense-in-depth protection from cyber security threats using firewalls, IDS/IPS, various proxy gateway and other network security tools and devices.
Monitoring key metrics necessary to monitor the performance of overall operations i.e., network capacity, availability, integrity and cost-efficiency.
Offering support to colleagues and stakeholder during scheduled maintenance windows and project timeframes; protecting the workflow of the organization while key systems are temporarily unavailable.
Participating in knowledge sharing sessions; offering relevant network engineering expertise to cross-functional teams; participating in network change control and new product design reviews.
Ensuring the security of all network solutions; collaborating with cyber security and software engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of working experience with complex core networking routing, switching, and firewalls.
Experience in network management tools (i.e., Netbrain, NetReo, Netscout, Cloud Vision), scripting, developing dashboards, and automating deployment configurations.
Experience with: Palo Alto, Algosec, Splunk, DataDog, Cisco, F5, Arista, SDWAN, VMWare, Citrix, MPLS, SDWAN, VeloCloud, Infoblox.
Experience with planning, engineering, and implementing network device configurations Experience with: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Routing, QOS, VXLAN, DNS, DHCP, AD Domains, Equinix Exchange Fabric Must be able to configure, deploy, and upgrade code on Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, Palo cloud based VMs, database, reporting, logging, rules, objects and policy standards.
Ability to configure, deploy, and upgrade code on Cisco ASA firewalls, routers and switches, SNMP logging, rules, objects and policy standards.
Experience working with cyber security; CISSP, CCSP, CSA or certifications Experience working with Netskope, Forcepoint, and/or other web proxy products Collaborating with other engineering and IT teams to plan, develop, execute and support infrastructure and network-related projects; offer thought leadership in regard to network security and management.
Assisting resolve of escalating network-related issues; participate on cross-departmental crisis resolution teams as required.
Participate in after hours and weekend On Call rotations for Tier 2 networking support, one week per month
Desired Qualifications
Experience working in the financial services industry; understanding of the role of custodial and consumer banks; experience managing sensitive financial data Experience with: IAC (Infrastructure as Code), CI/CD pipelines, and automation platforms including Terraform, Ansible, Python, OpenStack.
Experience working in an agile development environment Experience with infrastructure architecture; cloud-applications to infrastructure Experience with: AWS, Azure, Oracle OCI, Kyndryl zCloud
