Sr. Network Engineer - Manufacturing - Norwood, MA
Daley And Associates is currently seeking a talented and highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join a client who is prominent in the manufacturing space. This Senior Network Engineer will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our advanced network infrastructure, ensuring secure and efficient communication across our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement advanced network solutions that support the research and development activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their networking needs and provide technical expertise and guidance.
- Evaluate and improve network performance by monitoring and analyzing network traffic and executing necessary adjustments.
- Manage and troubleshoot complex network and security issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Develop and enforce network security protocols to protect our confidential research data and intellectual property.
- Stay updated on emerging network technologies and best practices, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a network engineer, with a focus on designing and implementing complex network infrastructures.
- Proven expertise in enterprise-level network design and implementation, including LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, Palo Alto, routing, switching, and firewall configuration.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols and standards, including TCP/IP, SNMP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Cisco Prime.
- In-depth understanding of network security principles and technologies, including IDS/IPS, firewall administration, and network encryption.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network and security issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
