GENERAL PURPOSE:
The Senior Marketing & Engagement Manager (Sr. Mkt & Engagement Mgr, MAG), reporting directly to the Director of Marketing & Engagement, oversees and recommends the design and implementation of innovative programs and engaging content that advance MAG’s mission. Upon Director of Marketing & Engagement approval is responsible for the execution of programming and content creation designed to fulfill the initiatives of MAG’s Strategic Plan. Plays a key role in forging vital liaisons between MAG and the Greater Rochester community and is charged with representing MAG and its interests at a wide range of community functions and, when appropriate, facilitating MAG’s involvement in community projects and overseeing cosponsored community programs at MAG.
**JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Leads **MAGsocial Programming** content development and execution of audience specific programming as assigned by the Director of Marketing & Engagement.
+ Identifies programming that encourages the participation of diverse audiences.
+ Leads discussion with appropriate departments (Curatorial Department, Events Office, Exhibitions Department, and Security) during program development to ensure that proper steps have been taken to manage expectations, plan and effectively execute a flawless program.
+ Reviews programming to identify areas of improvement, updates and opportunities to increase audience and revenue.
+ Creates narratives on program content for various departments for grant applications and proposals for prospective sponsors.
+ Works with Marketing & Engagement Director to develop and implement standard event workflow processes
+ Consults with Marketing & Engagement Director as engagement marketing plans are being developed.
+ Identifies and hires performers, presenters, artists, and vendors and ensures that proper steps have been taken to compensate them for their services.
+ Coordinates interdepartmental support efforts as needed to execute events.
Leads **Public Programming** content development and execution of exhibition related programming as assigned by the Director of Marketing & Engagement:

Per Director of Marketing & Engagement works to assign programming.
+ Assigns programming ownership to the Engagement Manager for execution.
+ Assigns all programming due dates to team members involved in marketing and execution of programs.
+ Reviews and submits programming information and materials created by Engagement Manager and M&E Team members for Director of Marketing & Engagement final sign off.
+ Ensures timely staff submissions, and communications that result in approval of MAG general marketing materials.
+ Identifies and supervises MAG programming volunteers and liaisons in order to build relationships in the community. Manages efforts in volunteer coordination, training, scheduling, and communication per the needs of each project/program.
+ Leads internal conversations and focus groups regarding programming and departmental support needs.
Leads the strategy, develop and implementation of content creation and management across the Museum’s digital platforms related to exhibitions, programming, and other MAG functions.
+ Leads planning and execution of social content across MAG’s digital platforms.
+ Assists museum staff on back-end content management systems and procedures related to digital media and initiatives when needed.
+ Establishes and maintains best practices for publishing on MAG’s website, as well as other digital platforms.
+ Reviews marketing materials produced in relation to exhibitions, programming, and other MAG functions.
+ Oversees the creation and implementation of webforms for program and ticketing.
+ Manages marketing requests for webform creation.
Responsible for logistical arrangements involved with programming including: transportation; reserving rooms; arranging security coverage; preparing any necessary materials.
+ Responsible travel arrangements for out-of-town lecturers, including: gathering itinerary information from speaker; making transportation reservations following U/R guidelines; and arranging for lodging. Provides itinerary and other appropriate information to department programmer.
+ Creates and manages budgets for programs. Responsible for budget and expense tracking as the program lead.
+ Works with bookkeeper to balance accounts and department Pcards.
+ Works with Director of Marketing & Engagement to forecast respective budgets and revenue.

**QUALIFICATIONS:**
**Required:**
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ 4 years of experience in marketing, programming, or related background
+ Ability to assess and manage multiple competing priorities and work well under pressure; excellent time management, problem solving, and analytical skills.
+ Commitment to a welcoming and inviting experience for guests and staff.
+ Proven track record of cultivating and maintaining relationships in the community.
+ Strength in leading and motivating colleagues and volunteers.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project confidence and professionalism.
+ Must be able to interact at various organizational levels within the University of Rochester (deans, faculty, administrators, staff, etc.) and beyond with confidence.
+ Proficiency in MS Office products including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

**Pay Range**
Pay Range: $23.80 - $33.32 Hourly
_The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._
