Summary:
Under limited supervision performs a wide variety of electronic thin-film, soft substrate, and hybrid assembly operations requiring considerable judgment and initiative to build up and assemble complex mixed chip and wire and soft substrate modules. Disassembles, modifies, reworks, refurbishes, re-assembles units as required, and other duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential Job Function):
" Follows production drawings, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions with minimum supervision. Understands and applies established acceptable workmanship practices to all facets of electronic assembly
" Interprets and works from electromechanical schematics, drawings, work instructions, and bills of material to understand the required parts and steps needed to complete the assigned assembly
" Reads and understands worksheets and wiring diagrams, selects components
" Knowledge of cleaning, component mounting, and parts orientation
" Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or holding device
" Uses hand and small tools, such as a variety of tweezers, microscopes to place small components on thin-film circuits, soft substrates, shims, and metallic base plates
" Performs eutectic attach and epoxy attach under a microscope
" Experience operating various types of MIC equipment, such as die-attached stations, wedge bonders, ball bonders, gap welders, bond-pull testers
" May perform other assembly tasks, such as soldering small (0201) passive and active parts such as BGA, QFN, SOT, etc.
" Performs inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards
" Reworks and repairs defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel
" Ability to follow all safety procedures in the use and handling of flammable and hazardous chemicals required to meet all cleanliness specifications
" Must be able to follow specific procedures and details instructions completely
" Ensures that quality checks are completed throughout the manufacturing process
" Records information on production records, logs, and other report forms as required 10/2021;1/2022
REQUIREMENTS:
" Must have working knowledge using equipment such as Wire bonder (Hybond), Gap welder (Unitek Unibonder), Westbond Eutectic attachment
" Associate degree, Vocational or Technical Certificate in related or specialized field; 10+ years of experience, and/or experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
" Familiar with Windows operating system and experience using Microsoft Office
" Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
" Ability to communicate and write routine reports and correspondence
" Flexible working time and ability to be trained in related tasks
" Ability to work individually and in a team environment
