To help fuel our company’s growth, we are looking for a Sr Merchandiser with exceptional creative and analytical abilities. This person will help lead the Special Projects initiative, which includes Licensed Properties, Customization, Cultural Moments, Collaborations, and more.
The ideal candidate has a passion for product and our brand personality, coupled with a drive for business results and analytical horsepower. Strong collaboration and communication skills are necessary, along with the ability to both think strategically and act tactically, rolling their sleeves up to get things done quickly and with limited resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage seasonal campaign calendar while coordinating and executing with key cross-functional partners throughout the organization
- Create seasonal merchandising briefs and business plans – collaborate cross functionally within the Merchandising team and beyond to ensure cohesion; and communicate to necessary teams
- Leverage PLM and apply the thinking to execute against our Iteration and Extension strategies
- Execute segmentation through profitable consumer right assortments that leverage Special projects to complement our mainline offering
- Provide seasonal visual assortment tools to support sales efforts, and partner with them to present and land profitable and consumer right assortments
- Partner with Merchandising team to ensure all relevant and accurate information is housed in the internal systems, continually updated and accurate in near real time
- Create Special Projects forecasts by partnering cross-functionally with the Planning and Operations team, and Regional/Channel leads and influencing the overall inventory buys
- Lead portions of the global milestone meetings, in addition to regional trade shows and market visits
- Deliver all assigned projects on time, in full, and while maintaining high quality standards
- Collaborate with the Product and Marketing team on campaign directives
- Externally serve as the key point of contact for any Licensed IP partners, or collaborating brands, and own those business relationships
- Endure compliance to any and all project parameters, including execution of sample approvals
- Partner with Director of Merchandising on Deal Memo framework and contract negotiation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor level degree and 3-5 years of experience in Retail Buying/Merchandising.
- Experience with licensed IP and cross brand partnerships
- Excited to work in a collaborative team environment. A successful history of working cross-functionally to influence others and execute projects.
- Enthusiasm and aptitude for working in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment: highly self-directed, results-oriented, and able to work at both strategic and tactical levels.
- Clear understanding of financial retail metrics.
- Results-driven and focused. Outstanding follow-up, organization, and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively present to cross-functional partners and senior leadership.
- Experience with, or a fundamental understanding of, Product Development
- An understanding of the Design Process, and it’s role in the Concept-to-Customer Journey
- A strong business acumen and presentation skills, with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret and act on general and complex business information
