Position Overview:The Senior Mechanical Project Manager will oversee a range of mechanical engineering projects, specifically focused on utility infrastructure including water, wastewater, energy, and other mechanical systems. The role demands strong technical expertise, leadership, and project management skills to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical projects for utility systems, ensuring alignment with technical standards and company objectives.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations, including procurement and contractor oversight.
- Provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct risk assessments, resolve technical issues, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project risks.
- Prepare project reports, monitor progress, and communicate updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Lead team members through all phases of project development, from initial concept through commissioning and handover.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across project teams.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical project management, with significant experience in utilities, energy, water, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems design, installation, and operations in utility environments.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale, complex projects from initiation through completion.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or PMP certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Sound knowledge of regulatory frameworks and environmental compliance.
- A results-driven mindset with a focus on timely delivery and budget control.
