Sr. Mechanical Engineer - Infleqtion
Louisville, CO
About the Job
At Infleqtion we solve the world’s most challenging problems using cutting-edge quantum technology. Our mission is to commercialize atom-based quantum products that provide orders of magnitude improvements in sensing and computing applications. We are proud to work tirelessly to create and lead the quantum ecosystem towards meaningful advancements today and set the technology roadmap for tomorrow.
POSITION SUMMARY
Our Team seeks to welcome a highly experienced opto-mechanical engineer with a strong foundation in mechanical design, analysis and simulation. We will appreciate a teammate that has fundamental knowledge of optics and product development; is excellent at working in a multi-disciplinary environment and can efficiently communicate with both engineers and scientists. We hope that you will help us bring our world-changing technology to life with integrity and passion that matches ours.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Typically, you will be entrusted with:
- Constructive collaboration with physicists and optical, electrical, mechanical, software, and systems engineers to support all aspects of our sub-systems’ product-development lifecycle. This begins with synthesis of sub-systems level requirements from top level counterparts after which you will lead the design, assembly, and test cycle from component to your entire module, which may contain of hundreds of precisely aligned optical elements.
- Designing systems for lab to rugged environments including high shock, vibration, and temperature extremes while maintaining precise optical alignments to ensure performance. Here you will get a chance to formulate and advise peers on strategies that converge on an optimum design while minimizing resources utilization.
- Analyzing and proving your designs’ performance through structural and thermal finite element analysis (FEA) and/or optical ray tracing simulations. If improvements to our knowledgebase are warranted, you will be able to actively contribute through specific design reviews across the company’s product lines.
- The development of characterization procedures, component manufacturing, assembly and alignment, stability and reliability testing of your designed sub-systems by formulating and executing structured test plans.
- Mentoring junior opto-mechanical team members and helping the team to standardize designs and implement processes that boost our productivity based on our unique circumstances.
- Sometimes, providing technical assistance for troubleshooting and diagnosing design quality problems and other duties or projects as assigned
