Position Summary:&
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Hardware Design (HW) will be a part of the R D organization and an important contributor to the realization of the next generation robotic platform that will change the future of healthcare.&
You will be a highly visible technical resource working on development of complex electro-mechanical systems.&
There will be direct involvement from prototype to verification builds and testing within a regulated medical device development environment.&
This role is suited for a senior-level R D engineer with experience in developing complex electromechanical systems.&
Key Responsibilities:&
Lead designing complex mechanical systems from concept to validation.&
Implement Computer aided design (CAD) best practices including master sketch/modeling and model base design (MBD).&
Create 2D mechanical and electrical (cable) drawings by using GD T where it is needed.&
Maintain disciplined test, configuration control, documentation, and management processes throughout&
Creation of 2D/3D drawings with working knowledge of ASME drafting standards including GD T (Y14.5-2018)&
Support a variety of multi-disciplinary technical and process improvement projects of different sizes and scopes.&
Help with the vendor communications and procurement issues.&
Manage and communicate assigned projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.&
Qualifications:&
6+ years work experience in complex electromechanical system in highly regulated R D environment. Medical device design and development experience is highly desired.&
Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.&
Extensive experience in designing for machined parts.&
Experience in casted and molded parts is a plus.&
Experience in designing for compliance with IEC 60601, design for manufacturability, and design for serviceability.&
Must have hands-on experience in design, assembly and testing of electro-mechanical systems.&
Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).&
Knowledge of industry best practices for development of complex electromechanical systems&
Demonstrated CAD proficiency highly in SolidWorks and PDM.&
Proficiency with SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS Finite Element Analysis tools&
Proficiency with Product Lifecycle Management PLM software and ECOs&
Develop production and support documentation including bills of material (BOMs), assembly drawings, and maintenance instructions.&
Able to execute assigned projects and duties with minimum supervision.&
Outstanding documentation and communication skills required.&
Proficiency in using MS Office required&
