The Role:
The CommerceNext Senior Marketing Associate is a pivotal role within our marketing team, focusing on enhancing our marketing strategies and execution across multiple channels. Working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager, the Senior Marketing Associate will take a lead role in content strategy, social media management, performance analysis and community engagement.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The primary function of the Senior Marketing Associate is to drive the successful implementation of CommerceNext's marketing initiatives. The role involves collaborating with various team members to develop and execute innovative campaigns that boost engagement and foster community growth. The Senior Marketing Associate will manage key content development, oversee social media channels, execute email and SMS marketing and support event operations.
Responsibilities & Duties
Content Development:
- Develop and edit content for blogs, including industry research, case studies and session recaps.
- Collaborate with the Senior Marketing Manager and Marketing Director to create a comprehensive marketing content calendar and oversee the execution of omnichannel campaigns.
Social Media Management:
- Manage 11 social media accounts, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
- Develop and execute social media marketing campaigns for customer acquisition and retention to encourage follower growth and community building.
Email Marketing:
- Assist team in writing copy, creating graphics and scheduling daily newsletters.
- Conduct A/B tests to optimize email marketing performance.
SMS Marketing:
- Develop and execute SMS marketing campaigns for customer acquisition and retention.
Database Management:
- Update and maintain the CRM database using Apollo and HubSpot.
- Assist the Senior Marketing Manager in organizing and analyzing contact data.
Performance Analysis:
- Monitor and analyse marketing program performance using Google Analytics.
- Send out monthly reports to update the team on social media growth and upcoming campaigns.
Webinars and Events:
- Assist co-founders with webinars from pre-production to post-production.
- Provide support during in-person events, including receptions, executive retreats and the annual conference in NYC.
Team Leadership:
- Assist the Senior Marketing Manager in interviewing, training and managing Marketing Interns.
Community Liaison:
- Engage with the community by responding to newsletter replies and emails and social media posts.
Website Management:
- Make minor updates to the CommerceNext website through WordPress as needed by the marketing team.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field such as advertising or journalism.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in a marketing role, preferably within the retail or ecommerce industry.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Strong copywriting and editing skills.
- Proven experience managing major social media platforms and associated data-tracking tools.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
- Proficiency with Canva or similar graphic design tools.
- Familiarity with HubSpot, Google Analytics and WordPress.
- Analytical, detail-oriented and a creative thinker.
- Ability to quickly learn and process information.
- Experience with email marketing, social media marketing, SMS marketing and CRM management.
