Skyworks Greensboro design team has leading R&D and product development capabilities and is seeking engineering talent with expertise in RF/microwave and RFIC design product development to meet rapidly increasing customer demand.

We are looking for a highly motivated IC Design Engineering Manager to contribute to RF Front End designs. You will work with other analog/RFIC and module designers creating the most advanced architectures and designs of IC. As an RFIC Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the analysis, design, simulation and development of RF LNA and SW IPs for next generation mobile devices using SOI, SiGe and other technologies. You will be expected to innovate and work in a fast-paced market to help to define and realize products as a chip lead.
You will lead a team of 4 to 8 people, working closely with RF and analog circuit designers to design RF LNAs for the high volume and fast paced cellular handset market. Your team will be part of a larger IC design group that also provides SOI RF SW, and PA bias controller design services. In this position, you will have the opportunity to make a uniquely large impact on the success of the company by working closely with multiple teams and functions throughout the organization. #LI-DB1
Job Responsibilities
• Lead a team of 4-8 people working closely with design engineers in the design and verification of Integrated Circuits for wireless consumer electronic products
• Drive continuous RF LNA performance, size and cost improvements utilizing IC process, co-design with the RFFE MCM and filter design teams
• Interface with domestic and international design engineering teams, in multiple design centers, across multiple time zones
• Mentor and train individuals on RF/analog IC design
• Collaborate with other leaders to establish and maintain common best practices and workflows across all sites
• Drive team efficiency improvements
Required Experience/Skills
• BS Degree with 15+ years or MS + 12 years or PhD + 8 years of RF/Analog IC related experience using SOI, SiGe, CMOS
• Proven leadership in RF/Analog product design innovation
• Strong experience in RF frontend Switch/PA/LNA design and product developments
• Strong understanding of analog control and bias circuits such as POR, bias, bandgap, LDO, OPamp, charge pump, fuse etc.
• Experienced in implementing on-chip ESD protection strategies for HBM/CDM on IC
• Demonstrated experience debugging, resolving and applying techniques to mitigate RF/Analog design issues and optimum layout for performance, and die size trade off
• Proficient with Cadence tools
• Layout experience using the Cadence flow, including LVS and DRC. Ability to work with CAD engineers and provide guidance on RF/Analog layouts
• Good understanding of MIPI standard and digital decoder design
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated project management and talent management skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage and motivate engineering talent, define and set deliverables, plan resources, manage schedule, drive design methodology improvement, and achieve desired results
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $139,100 - $278,300 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
