Job Description:
Aerojet Rocketdyne, an L3Harris Technologies Company, is seeking a Senior Manager of Manufacturing and Production Planning in our Orlando, FL facility. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for all flight hardware components production. Specific functions for this individual include managing process and manufacturing engineering, production scheduling and assembly. Will manage and lead operational processes to achieve 100% safety, quality, schedules and cost targets with uncompromising ethics and compliance. Requires the ability to lead, train and successfully apply process improvements. The position also requires the ability to strategically plan, develop departmental budgets, develop staffing plans and successfully achieve established departmental and site performance standards.
Essential Functions:
- Provide leadership to experienced production managers, supervisors, process engineers, and production control personnel
- Create workforce and staffing plans to support departmental goals in support of multiple programs
- Improve upon existing, or establish new processes and systems
- Ensure that production meets schedules and operational metrics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet program technical, schedule and delivery requirements
- Develop lean methodology and drive operational improvements
- Analyze production workflow and develop process improvements as needed
- Establish and maintain applicable records and reports monitoring internal operating controls
- Provide training in manufacturing techniques, policies and procedures and/or safety and environmental procedures
- Provide direction and coaching to employees as guided by established policies and procedures
- Interpret and execute policies that affect supervised employees
- Oversee inspection and maintenance of equipment
- Review designs for manufacturability
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 12+ years of related experience
- Experience leading ERP/MRP implementation in Maestro, SAP, or an Oracle database systemE
- E xperience implementing a manufacturing execution solution in a development and production environment
- Ability to schedule production to meet operational goals and customer requirements
- Ability to coach/mentor subordinates
- Ability to work within budget constraints
- Ability to obtain, and maintain, a US goverment security clearance
Preferred addition skills:
- Previous experience in the defense/aerospace industry
- Active US government security clearance
