Position Summary:
The Senior Maintenance Specialist will collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to support and execute maintenance and turnaround initiatives. This role requires advanced technical knowledge, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead and facilitate maintenance activities while ensuring reliability, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Turnaround/Project Support:
- Assist in the development and execution of turnaround strategies and initiatives.
- Coordinate and oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation to meet objectives.
- Provide technical expertise and support for troubleshooting complex maintenance issues.
- Data Collection & Analysis:
- Collect and analyze operational data to monitor equipment performance and identify reliability gaps.
- Prepare actionable reports to inform maintenance planning and improvement strategies.
- Use data insights to recommend solutions for enhanced equipment longevity and efficiency.
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies that align with business goals and operational requirements.
- Establish measurable objectives and ensure timely execution of maintenance plans.
- Communication & Coordination:
- Serve as the liaison between maintenance teams, operations, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate meetings, workshops, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment on maintenance and turnaround priorities.
- Operational Improvement:
- Drive continuous improvement by optimizing maintenance processes and implementing best practices.
- Identify and address root causes of equipment failures to enhance system reliability.
- Monitor and refine performance metrics to ensure high standards of accountability
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain thorough documentation of maintenance activities, including equipment logs, work orders, and progress reports.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on maintenance performance and turnaround progress.
- Change Management Support:
- Support the implementation of new maintenance practices and technologies.
- Facilitate training and engagement initiatives to ensure team readiness and adaptability to change.
- Administrative Support:
- Assist in the preparation of maintenance budgets and track expenditures to optimize resource use.
- Manage schedules and coordinate logistics for maintenance and turnaround activities.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; technical or trade certifications in maintenance or engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance, turnaround management, or operational leadership within an industrial setting.
- At least 5 years of experience in project coordination, equipment reliability, or maintenance planning.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a focus on safety.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance/project management software (e.g., SAP, CMMS)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
