This facility manufactures cryogenic equipment to support the company’s industrial gas and liquified natural gas (LNG) business. In addition to pressure vessels, distillation columns, piping skids and cold boxes it is also the world’s leading manufacturer of (LNG) heat exchangers. Each heat exchanger consists of coil wound tube bundles housed within an aluminum or stainless-steel pressure shell, all of which are assembled and welded by skilled employees at the plant. This facility employs nearly 300 production technicians.
THE POSITION
We are seeking a high energy, self-starter with strong interpersonal skills to fill a Senior Supply Chain Operations Manager position at its LNG manufacturing facility in Palmetto, Florida (Port Manatee/Manatee County).
You are responsible for directing the shop floor activities of our equipment manufacturing team through direct supervision of production managers, production supervisors, and shop floor employees across all three shifts.
You must possess the ability to drive organizational change through leadership and influence. You will identify opportunities for improvement initiatives within the organization and form cross functional teams to develop process improvements in the areas of safety, productivity, and quality. You will steer the cross functional teams to ensure the objectives are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
You will develop and track key performance indicators for the Organization and drive improvements to those KPI’s. You are responsible for the development of talent within the Organization to ensure a sustainable pool of talent at all levels within the Organization to ensure high performance against our KPI’s. You will use forward-looking workload models to create specific skill-based manpower plans and coordinate training programs to ensure the correct skillsets are developed in advance of the workload needs.
You will create a culture of accountability and ownership within the Organization and across all shifts. You will coordinate and lead regular reviews of organizational performance to identify areas of underperformance and ensure corrective actions & lessons learned are implemented to achieve better performance in the future. You will hold others accountable to high expectations for safety, planning, performance, and employee development.
You will actively seek opportunities for improvement within the organization and manage the team to implement changes to ensure that the necessary improvements are identified and implemented. You will measure and monitor to ensure the changes have achieved the desired outcome and adjust as necessary.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Set high expectations and create a culture of accountability and ownership to ensure Production Managers and Supervisors have, and utilize, proper processes and tools to effectively manage safety, planning, and performance within the Organization.
+ Coordinate and lead periodic, recurring performance reviews / lessons learned of work in-progress and ensure corrective & preventive actions are implemented and shared across Team members.
+ Plan and direct long term development plans to ensure the Organization has the depth and breadth of skillsets to meet schedule, quality, and productivity goals.
+ Hold others accountable for ensuring proper instruction and training is given to each employee at the start of assignments.
+ Analyze future production requirements and issues. Implement actions to ensure the team is prepared in terms of manpower, equipment, and processes.
+ Ensure that direct reports follow a sustainable process for reviewing and analyzing productivity data across various operations and implement productivity improvement plans.
+ Monitor and control overhead spending to work within approved plant operating budgets.
+ Enforce work rules and practices in a fair manner to staff and hourly workforce across shifts.
+ Provide input on methods to improve productivity through equipment acquisition, better methods of assembly, overhead reductions, etc.
+ Ensure processes and procedures are followed by Production Managers, Supervisors, and shop floor technicians.
+ Ensure metrics and goals are established to create a “one team” mentality across shifts.
YOU MUST HAVE
+ Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Engineering or Business Management.
+ At least 7+ years in manufacturing leadership or a related Mechanical field.
+ At least 10 years of experience managing an hourly workforce.

+ Demonstrated experience with driving Organizational change. Must possess the ability to assess the Organization and determine the highest impact improvement initiatives. Then lead Teams to implement changes to achieve the high impact improvement initiatives.
+ Good leadership, communication, and organizational skills are required, with an ability to establish, develop and lead teams.
+ Must have good inter-personal skills to deal professionally with company people at all levels including shop floor employees and senior management.
+ Must have the ability and desire to support all shifts, seven days a week as needed. Accountability spans all shifts. Performance will be assessed based on results achieved across all shifts.
