KTI is currently seeking a talented Sr. Interior Designer that is enthusiastic and passionate about the work we do! The Sr. Interior Designer will work on homes across the country as part of the Interior Merchandising team. This role reports directly to the Studio Director and will have a hand in creating amazing spaces together!
The Interior Merchandising team works with Builders and Developers who trust KTI staff to furnish their model homes in the most current, edgy designs that maintain their brand as market leaders. This team executes their vision, moving from conception through installation in months, not years. The staff receive a unique opportunity to follow trends and work in different styles and different regions of the country.
The Sr. Interior Designer will need a thorough understanding of the design process in order to execute a variety of tasks in multiple stages on multiple projects. Designers work in tandem with a team through conceptualization, development, delivery and installation of the final design. They contribute to deliverables that adhere to KTI's award winning standards and exceed client expectations.
Your day-to-day would look like:
- Development and understanding of design programing requirements based on client parameters such as budgets, design style and aesthetic, operation, purpose, and function.
- Collaborate with the team in developing conceptual imagery, schematic schemes, preliminary material selections and initial space planning as required for the scope of a project.
- Working within timely schedules put forth by the Studio Director and Purchasing Team to coordinate and support the completion of tasks as required, adhering to key deliverables and deadlines.
- Maintenance of internal reporting systems, i.e. time sheets and project files.
- Responsible for providing weekly project report updates to the Studio Director as required, with key focus on communicating deliverable dates and deadlines.
- Continuing education related to product updates and industry trends.
- Contribute to a team effort from conceptualization through installations with multiple projects in multiple stages under the guidance of the Studio Director.
- Demonstrate drafting expertise in development of construction documents; to include drafting plans and elevations; help finalize all details to include (but not limited to) plumbing, door hardware, lighting, flooring, ceilings, walls, millwork and material schedules.
- Responsible for making initial selections at presentation phase for the following: furniture, soft goods (draperies and rugs), art, plant, outdoor furniture, and accessories.
- Make finish selections to include (but not limited to) cabinets, hardware, floor and wall tile, counters, plumbing, doors, lighting, carpet, and flooring.
- Attend client meetings and site visits, create punch lists as needed.
- Create presentations for Studio Director review and Client approval from finish selections all the way through FF&E selection and design.
- Responsible for final selections of: furniture, soft goods (bedding and pillows) drapery, rugs, art, plants, outdoor furniture, and accessories.
- Collaborate with fabricators, sending measurements and specifications, acquiring quotes and scheduling installations.
- Make reselections as needed due to lack of inventory or scheduling issues.
- Revise and prepare documentation for execution of approved design concepts, picking up redlines and other edits, made by senior staff ensuring all follow KTI's presentation standards.
- Write FF&E specifications and assist in tasks for the procurement process.
- Attend project installations across the country and take part in directing and assisting KTI's installation crew to install all furnishings; shopping and assisting with the creation of punch lists to meet project deadlines.
- Assist in project completion close out, finalizing documentation, generating inventory books when needed, providing ease of future reference to projects in electronic filings.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Minimum AA in Interior Design; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 5 year min. experience in Interior Design, preferably in Model Home Design.
- Ability to travel 25% of the time is a must. This includes out of state travel and in Colorado from Longmont to Colorado Springs. Travel depends on installation schedule and the length is from 2-5 days.
Technical Skill Set:
- Required Proficiencies: AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Suite, Adobe Photoshop, InDesignStrongly
- Preferred Proficiencies: Illustrator, Sketch Up
- Knowledge of Design Smart & QuickBooks a plus
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer competitive pay, an exceptional benefit package, and support for continuing education and professional development. This is a full-time, salaried position. The target starting pay range for this role will be: $60,000- $75,000 but will be based on experience level. Our 2025 benefits package includes:
