Role Summary

NECI’s Asset Reliability Business is engaged in the delivery of Instrumentation and Calibration services to industrial sites throughout New England & New York. We work closely with our customers in solving problems and providing technical solutions.

As a member of the NECI Asset Reliability team, you are expected to deliver industry leading services to our customers as it pertains to instrumentation support & calibration. Technicians working as a member of a team, or independently are required to execute site services efficiently and accurately. In addition to technical expertise, NECI seeks individuals with superior attention to detail and reporting skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Execute field service work as a member of a team or individually as required
• Perform advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of field instruments
• Collect, compile, measure, summarize, and record data gathered during calibration
• Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective action via adjustments, component replacement, correction factors, etc.
• Write detailed site reports, calibration reports, and certificates
• Interact with other technicians, schedulers, account managers, and customers.
• Lead service technicians during customer engagements.
• Train subordinates in calibration concepts and procedures
• Manage and maintain equipment in a manner to ensure accuracy
• Responsible for providing uncompromising quality to all work processes in designated area of responsibility. Has the authority to stop those work processes at any time it is believed that quality is being compromised
• Performs other duties as assigned; responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
• Physical demands: Lifting up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
• Travel: 90% travel within the New England area

Qualifications

• Must process excellent written and oral, communication skills.
• Self-starter, honest, responsible, timely, detail oriented and self-sufficient.
• Basic computer skills.
• Proficient in use of MS Word and Excel.
• Must have very good interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to get along well with others.
• Strong attention to details.
• Appropriate and professional demeanor and appearance.
• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of calibration experience.
• Experience in entering information into a calibration management system.
• Knowledge of or experience with ISO 17025.
• Must be able to perform advanced math and algebra functions.

Preferred qualifications:

• ISA Certification (Level 1&2).
• Military experience or certification in electronics.

Competencies

• Hands on experience testing, troubleshooting, and repairing pressure, temperature, analytical, liquid flow, mass flow, level, multivariable, humidity, weight, and speed instruments.
• Experience using pressure calibrators (e.g. BEAMEX multi-calibrator / Fluke 721), multimeters, resistance simulators, conductivity solutions, pH buffers, tachometers, and temperature standards (e.g. Fluke 1523).
• Prefer previous experience working in Pharma, Power, or Utilities.
• Proficient in viewing, programming, and adjusting a variety of instruments via HART / FF communication.
• Experience with 4-20 mA current loops
• Experience in various BUS communication protocols
• Ability to perform tasks by referencing standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
• Ability to troubleshoot, program, and adjust instruments by referencing instrument manuals
• Experience and understanding of P&ID’s, and electrical drawings

Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
