The Sr Indirect Procurement Manager is an individual contributor and subject matter expert who develops the indirect procurement strategy and oversees the relationship and performance of the suppliers who provide the products, services and technology that support our operational business needs and goals.
Working under general supervision of the VP and Corporate Controller, relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals, the Sr Indirect Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing contracts. The Sr Manager is accountable for overall supplier contracts, performance, relationships and risk management as well as ensuring that they deliver quality, timely, and cost-effective products, services and technology.
Primary Job Duties
- Acts as the indirect procurement and contract management expert
- Provides leadership and sets the strategic direction, mission and vision of the supplier
management process. - Develops the indirect procurement strategy that is aligned with the overall corporate business
strategy priorities and translate into procurement targets. - Coordinates and leads planning of continuous improvements initiatives as well as the project
management of those initiatives. - Manages the maintenance and enhancement of tools for use in supplier management, including
supplier tracking, analytics and performance management tools. - Meets regularly with the business to ensure needs are met in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop criteria and best practices for supplier
selection, specifically with our technology team. - Serves as the leadership-level point of contact between the suppliers and internal customers
consuming supplier products, services and technology. - Sources, evaluates, and selects technology suppliers and partners that meet our business
requirements and standards. - Manages the negotiation of supplier terms and conditions.
- Manages supplier relationships as the key point of contact between specified supplier and the
business and serve as a point of escalation for supplier issues and disputes and drive those
issues to resolution. - Manages the collection, consolidation and communication of reporting and data on supplier
contracts, performance, risk and relationships to key stakeholders. - Manages and oversees the creation and maintenance of a repository of suppliers in a contract
management database or similar solution to track key engagement milestones (expirations,
renewals). - Maintains an inventory of supplier spend by category (software, hardware, telecom, staff
augmentation, services), and cost center. - Oversees the measurement and reporting of supplier performance, including the development of
evaluation tools based on stakeholder needs, and the creation of scorecards and dashboards that
will accurately present this data. - Maintains supplier risk assessments in cooperation with the security teams.
- Delivers best-in- class products and services with the right balance of cost control, risk mitigation
and speed.
Required competencies:
- 10+ years of indirect procurement experience with the ability to develop strategies that are aligned
with the overall corporate business strategy priorities and translate into procurement targets. - Strong knowledge of supplier management methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple suppliers with competing priorities.
- Adaptable with ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently.
