Sr. Global Supply Manager, Retail Development
Duration: 6 months
Pay: $40/hourly - $50.48/hr
Location: Newark CA
We are currently seeking a temporary Global Supply Manager to support our Retail Development (Design, Construction & Fit out). (This position has no involvement in car production sourcing,) The Global Supply Manager must identify, develop, and improve various programs while identifying additional managed spend opportunities. This role will closely interact with various internal business partners including, but not limited to: Retail Development, Design, Real Estate, Finance, Legal, Logistics, and Accounts Payable. Also, the Global Supply Manager will work with contractors, manufacturers, vendors, materials, service, and equipment providers to ensure that retail sites are completed on time. He or she will help establish our global supply chain strategy, manage end to end contracting, supplier management, and support cross function teams in execution.
You Will:
• Collaborate with both project and operations teams to build positive partnerships and identify potential suppliers with the right qualifications to meet expectations and timeline.
• Work with vendors and contractors to source for Owner Furnished Items (OFI); review bid packages, scope documentation, and change management for categories such as: graphics, accessories, equipment, AV, FF&E, fixtures, door hardware, signage, millwork, lighting, etc.
• Conduct in-depth financial and spend analysis to find trends and discrepancies.
• Conduct market and supplier analysis to identify market trends for opportunities to reduce cost.
• Create RFQs and RFPs, review, analyze and clarify quotations from vendors and develop sound sourcing and business recommendations balancing cost, quality, lead-time, and technical considerations.
• Lead strategic sourcing activities and serve as a procurement guide on projects and initiatives.
• Manage the entire RFP process for projects you lead- from conducting initial due diligence to finalizing contract negotiations (including determining the award scenario based on identifying the best supplier to provide quality product, service, capability/capacity, and price)
• Organize, produce, and present RFP findings to management.
• Assist in the developing project implementation plan to ensure successful program roll out and proper compliance. Monitor projects throughout the lifecycle of contract. Conduct quarterly business reviews.
• Maintain overall contractor relationships and act as single point of contact for all commercial issues that you manage.
• Work with Design team, contractors, and project team to qualify and manage design changes, future products, materials, and impacts.
• Review project budgets to ensure project deliver on-time and on-budget.
• Review project construction drawings to order Owner Furnished Items (OFI) to meet schedule for delivery and storage and/or delivery and installation.
• Manage contractor development and project timelines, develop solutions to delays or problems that arise.
• Own key supplier relationships and performance, both strategic and tactical, through the entire life cycle of company projects. Travel 15-25% to visit suppliers to perform business and program reviews.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree Supply Chain, Finance or related technical field, Relevant work experience in procurement, or supply chain discipline may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
• Must have experience with Retail Development Sourcing or Procurement
• Strong negotiation skills and strategic business experience
• Excellent critical thinking, combined with quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to understand and evaluate technical specifications, shop drawings, architectural drawings
• Experience conducting bid processes (RFI, RFP, and informal bids), negotiating with vendors, writing contracts, and implementing contracts/ agreements.
• Commodity management experience
• Strong organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints, within established deadlines and attention to detail.
• Excellent speaking and presentation skills
• Able to create, read and evaluate reports and generate correspondence and statistical reports.
• Product launch experience, beyond sourcing behind a desk
• You have innovative ideas you will bring to the table to help optimize cost and schedule.
• Excellent analytical, negotiations and problem-solving skills. Passionate for results, strategy, and hands on execution. Creative, calculated risk taker with the ability to manage supply issues and resolve supplier disputes while preserving relationships with suppliers and internal partners.
• Strong written and verbal skills as well as organizational and program management capabilities
• Proficient in Excel, Project, Power Point, Word, Smartsheet, ShareFile and ERP systems (SAP)
• Ability to adapt to constantly evolving circumstances and changing organizational requirements.
• Ability to mitigate unforeseen problem creatively and effectively. Self-starter with the ability to effectively and creatively problem solve and identify solutions while maintaining a high level of flexibility, professionalism, and integrity.
