Job Description:
As a Financial Planning and Analysis Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the mission of the American Cancer Society by providing strategic financial analysis to guide decision-making across the organization. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in the United States, and prior experience in business analytics supporting development or fundraising efforts is highly desired.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of American Cancer Society programs and operations.
- Provide strategic and analytical support to business leaders, aiding in informed decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with various business areas to develop sound business case analyses.
- Identify and measure key performance indicators related to financial, income, and mission objectives.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting processes for assigned business areas.
- Monitor performance indicators, analyze variances, and provide timely reporting and insights to business and finance leaders.
- Create dashboards and reports to facilitate decision-making processes.
- Conduct ad hoc financial analyses as requested by leadership and seek opportunities to optimize financial performance.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience, including general ledger accounting and analysis.
- Experience with restricted fund accounting and government grant accounting preferred.
- Knowledge of not-for-profit or higher education financial practices is advantageous.
- Familiarity with advocacy federal and state compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and financial software, with pivot table experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects within budgetary and schedule constraints.
Compensation:
The starting salary for this position ranges from $78,600 to $95,000 per year, commensurate with experience and skills. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, experience, and education.
