In this role in our Tempe, AZ offices, the Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for supporting BU OCOS functions in planning, budgeting, forecasting and analyzing financial results. Additionally, you will have responsibility over Shipping/Freight costs and approving Intercompany transactions.
You will be required to collaborate with Business Unit functions to ensure the accuracy of monthly reporting, quarterly projections and annual budgets as well as to monitor, track and analyze actual performance against plans for purposes of providing analysis and commentary for management decision support. Planning areas will include Supply Chain, Operations Admin, Regulatory, Quality and OCOS special projects. This role also coordinates with ISC Finance to explain manufacturing, E&O, reval, and other variances. In addition this role collaborates with the Transportation team to review and understand trends in freight in, freight out, and department shipping.
Essential Job Functions/Requirements:
+ Supports Cost Center planning and budgeting effort for OCOS and Shipping
+ Develops and monitors forecasts, trends and supports performance management analysis and commentary development
+ Understands budgeting, planning and operational data to run reports and develop ad-hoc reports using Excel and standardized planning tools.
+ Prepares ad hoc analysis for Finance Leadership, Business Partners and Segment FP&A on an as-needed basis.
+ Help develop value added financial reporting systems for managing business performance.
+ Review incoming and outgoing intercompany cross charges for accuracy and appropriate approvals and support intercompany team in resolving any out of balance accounts
+ Assist with the monthly accounting close process.
+ Assist with audit and tax requests.
+ Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications Required
Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s Degree required in one of these fields: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics. Master’s degree preferred.
+ 3 to 5+ years of relevant finance experience with a focus on planning, budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting required, including month end close activities.
+ Professional experience in large global multi-segment business, or public accounting.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
+ Ability to go beyond the numbers, discern trends, determine the root cause of variances, and consider the broad business implications in helping identify opportunities and improve performance
+ Strong quantitative and analytical skills for creating insightful and actionable reporting and analysis
+ Knowledge of accounting policies and procedures – GAAP/IFRS
+ Experience in trend analysis, forecasting, and modeling.
+ Advanced Experience with ERP Systems, budgeting and reporting tools commonly found in today larger businesses such as SAP, BPC, JDE, Oracle. JDE preferred.
+ Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel required (VLOOKUP, macros, pivot tables, etc.)
+ Strong proficiency with Microsoft tools (Power BI, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Access, etc.)
+ Ability to travel domestically approximately 10%.
+ Strong ability to communicate well with all levels of management; must be effective in converting data into useful information and communicating that information through concise commentary
+ Highly responsive, with a strong sense of urgency paired with a definitive emphasis on quality control
+ Ability to adapt, learn quickly and work independently on multiple competing projects and deadlines.
+ Self-starter who can think and work independently and on teams.
+ Strong presentation, interpersonal and communication skills – Effective communicator with ability to be persuasive and influence senior management, locally or remotely.
+ Collaborative working style, ability to foster effective working relationships and build trust across a team environment
+ Be comfortable in a multicultural matrix organization.
+ Ability to see the big picture while maintaining attention to detail.
