The position is focused on delivering key financial metrics including net sales, profit, and share objectives across retail customers by providing timely and robust financial analysis, control and compliance support, and effective business planning. The position informs and influences business decisions, particularly focused on trade and marketing investment opportunities, business planning, and innovation. The position supports organization goals through the development and execution of effective and efficient business plans, detailed financial analysis involving trade investment and gap closing opportunities, customer level reporting, and robust control and compliance discipline.
This role provides flexibility to work in a hybrid environment of home and our Westlake Village, CA office. (Hybrid is defined as 3 times per week in the office).
Responsibilities
- Support marketing finance activities i.e., Building innovation P&Ls, Month-end, forecast, reporting, variance analysis and commentaries.
- Develop and maintain 3-year innovation pipeline financial by project.
- Build strong relationships with the marketing teams and create a strategic partnership to identify and monitor key performance indicators and develop actionable insights
- Understand and interpret business results through P&L analysis, trends, earnings variation, mix, and various ad-hoc analyses and communicate those findings and make recommendations effectively
- Work closely with the cross functional teams to develop new product innovation P&Ls, along with tracking the performance of those new launches
- Provide financial analysis and brand insights, where required, in support of joint business plans, budgeting, and marketing event analysis.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to set targets and deadlines. Develop budget and strategic plans, conduct analyses, measures results and improve processes.
- Analysis of month-end results and provides variance analysis and commentaries.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop high-quality content – including PowerPoint decks and SAC dashboards to support executive communication and decision-making
- Reconcile the spend tracker and follow up on variances during the month end.
- Load, review, and reconcile forecast data to ensure alignment with actuals and business expectations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution
- Support the preparation and review of quarterly and periodic financial performance reports.
- Ensure proper maintenance of financial files and trackers.
- Ad hoc request as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience, Knowledge, & Skills You Bring:
- 4-6 years of experience in corporate finance and/or business analysis with at least 2 years directly supporting Sales & Marketing and/or Revenue Management functions.
- Strong knowledge of sales and marketing fundamentals and trade investment experience.
- Proven ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Customer and brand level reporting and planning (budgeting/forecasting) experience.
- Consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry experience, preferably in the manufacturing or food sector.
- Experience with SAP, SAC, Business Objects, Hyperion.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with experience in financial modeling.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize tools and processes for continuous improvement.
- Ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization, including the ability to present financial data clearly and concisely.

Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree required in business or other discipline that requires quantitative knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and use the computer for extended periods of time; ability to answer phones and use a variety of office equipment; ability to lift 15 pounds and reach overhead.
Travel Requirements:
- Estimated 5% travel

FOR JOBS BASED IN CALIFORNIA:
Hiring Pay Scale: $90,000 to $110,000
