Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst with a strong background in finance and accounting, particularly within the homebuilding, land development, and construction industries. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, be proficient with finance and accounting systems, and have extensive knowledge of cost accounting. This role requires an individual who can exercise independent judgment and discretion on matters of significance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform office and non-manual work directly related to management or general business operations.
- Exercise independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.
- Report to the Division/Corporate Office/Community daily and adhere to a set schedule.
- Access, input, and retrieve information from computers and electronic devices.
- Conduct face-to-face conversations with customers, co-workers, and higher-level managers.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Sit or stand for long periods and move around the work environment as needed.
- Operate a motor vehicle, if applicable.
- Provide comprehensive financial analysis and reporting.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Analyze job costs and ensure accurate cost accounting for construction projects.
- Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary financial data.
- Prepare detailed reports for management review.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in finance/accounting, preferably in the homebuilding, land development, and/or construction industry.
- Proficiency in finance and accounting systems and software.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting specific to the construction industry.
- Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with job cost-related software.
- Prior experience with production homebuilding and/or land development is highly desirable.
- Credit report in good standing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Office environment with potential visits to various community sites.
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods and move around as necessary.
- Must be able to have face-to-face conversations and operate a computer and/or electronic device.
