The Division of Development and Alumni Relations has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Financial Analyst to work in Coral Gables, FL.

General Overview:
Manage production, validation, and analysis of fiscal year financial/ budget reporting data. Manage Development and Alumni Relations (Gables) operating and personnel budget processes. Prepare, reports, and track expense variances between actual and budget, including forecasting. Design and prepare presentations as needed. Manage personnel and non-personnel position planning preparation process in conjunction with Assistant Vice President, Development Resources.
Essential Responsibilities:
+ Develops, prepares, and coordinates documentation of financial analysis for budgets, forecasts, projections, expense performance, and presentations, including balancing positions to budget allocation and track Development and Alumni Relations (Gables and Medical) exempt and non-exempt position planning, including salary, compensation, and allowances.
+ Prepare financial spreadsheet reports to track Development and Alumni Relations (Gables and Medical Campus) position compensation/salary flux for vacant and intermittent positions.
+ Prepare financial reports to track monthly and quarterly variances between actual expenses and budget, including forecasting/ mid and fiscal year end.
+ Track Development and Alumni Relations number of positions, including employee headcount, open positions, and turnover rates monthly.
+ Prepare monthly payroll file to track payroll to budget allocation and ensure accuracy in expenses to budget, employees and overall department.
+ Process payroll adjustments for salary, compensation, one-time payments, and allowances as needed to align with budget allocation.
+ Prepare graphs, charts and reports depicting financial and budget analysis and comparison information and fulfill ad hoc financial reporting requests as needed.
+ Provides analytical evaluation for forward-looking financial or business-related projects.
+ Develop specification and design report templates for new financial and budget reports as needed, in conjunction with Assistant Vice President, Development Resources.
+ Manage position planning budget preparation during FP&A Budget Phase I and II. The preparation process includes organizing, reviewing, accurately allocating spend categories and funding accounts for all Division current positions, including positions assignments, open positions, and new position requests.
+ Prepare the divisions merit allocation to budget and distribute to employees on the University’s budget system, Tidemark. The preparation includes validating the budget allocation for employees based on hire date.
+ Develops performance and productivity dashboards, models, or analyses, for merit, bonus, and incentive plans for division employees in conjunction with Assistant Vice President.
+ Serves as a secondary Cost Center Manager for all Division expenses, including compensation and operating according to University and unit level expenditure policies and procedures to safeguards University assets.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in business administration from an accredited institution with major course work in Accounting, Finance, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
+ Minimum three years of effective and relevant work experience in business administration. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
+ Proficient in MS Excel, and Word, with strong knowledge of MS formula functions, including but not limited to VLOOKUP, Pivot tables, auditing formulas, data validation, etc.
+ Strong aptitude in data analysis, interpretation, and report production.
+ Excellent command of the English language, both oral and written.
+ Must be detail oriented and have excellent communication skills.
+ Must be able to perform and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
