Role:
The Senior Financial Analyst prepares, reviews, and analyzes financial data. Responsibilities include preparing budgets, forecasts, and what-if modeling, maintaining the financial model, Asset/Liability Management, and Investment Portfolio Management. Provides prompt, accurate, and courteous service to all internal members (co-workers). Adheres to all policies, procedures, State Laws, and Regulations.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
E 40% Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual marketing and financial analyses. Reviews trends and variances, and offers insights and recommendations to the leadership team. Proactively seeks to improve analyses, along with efficiencies in reporting.
E 25% Effectively works with department managers and senior management to prepare the annual budget. Provides recommendations for loan and deposit growth. Compiles organization data, analyzes historical results and evaluates economic and market conditions to prepare forecasts and projections. Prepares what-if modeling for the annual strategic planning session and as needed for the executive team.
E 10% Produces reports for Asset/Liability Management Committee meetings and Pricing Committee meetings. Participates in, supports, and contributes to committee discussions. Provides financial reports, minutes, analyses, policy monitoring reports, and liquidity forecasts.
E 10% Updates and maintains the accuracy of ProfitStars Financial model, including chart of accounts, data files, offering rates, and maturity and repricing. Analyzes the credit union's branch profitability, product profitability, and member profitability results. Prepares and presents profitability reports at ALCO and Retail Management meetings and review Branch Financials with managers quarterly.
E 5% Prepares and participates in the Credit Risk Committee by providing trend analysis reports using the nCino loan analytics system. Required to understand and make recommendations on the methodologies used for the CECL calculation.
E 5% Oversees Asset Liability Management reporting with our third-party business affiliate. Provides quarterly data files, monitors report schedules, and reviews reports for accuracy.
N 5% Performs all other duties as assigned by Director of Finance.
Performance Measurements:
1. Meets all deadlines, with minimal errors and no errors that result in financial loss to the credit union
2. Keeps the Director of Finance timely informed regarding key operating issues.
3. Effectively and professionally communicates with solid reporting skills in small and large group settings. Maintains high-quality internal service to the credit union staff and members.
4. Manages multiple projects, meets firm deadlines, multi-tasks in a fast-paced environment, adjusts to changing workflows, and works under general supervision to accomplish goals.
5. Demonstrates an understanding of, and follow the requirements of all regulation compliance, including but not limited to those of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Member Due Diligence (MDD) as it specifically relates to their job functions. Employee shall be trained annually in BSA/AML compliance.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience:
Five years to eight years of similar or related experience. Minimum 5 years of financial analysis and reporting with a mid-to-large size organization, including experience designing, preparing, and interpreting financial reports for management reporting and analysis. Experience in the financial services industry is preferred. Asset Liability Management and Investment Portfolio Management is a plus.
Education:
Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field). Bachelor's degree with heavy concentration in accounting or finance.

Able to successfully manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Must be self-motivated and willing to learn, accept responsibility, and tackle new challenges with a commitment to excellence.
Possesses the ability to effectively and professionally communicate verbally and in written form with strong reporting skills. Must possess strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills with attention to detail.
Other Skills:
Superior computer skills with advanced knowledge in Excel and PowerPoint. Project management skills for managing long-term projects to timely and successful completion. Performs all aspects of work with a high degree of effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy. Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to electronics work. May require periodic travel. There is exposure to potential hazardous conditions such as robbery. Employees are to receive detailed instructions and procedures to follow in order to minimize risk.
