Yorktel is currently seeking a Sr. Field Engineer who will be focused on a fast-paced high-volume production and engineering department and staff. The Sr. Field Engineer is also responsible for meeting project commitments (both financial and non-financial) and the overall service of external customers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to strategic or operational planning within the field engineering departments, monitoring the performance of active projects, financial analysis to include job cost monitoring and reporting, staff training, adherence to standard operating practice and processes.Roles & ResponsibilitiesWork within a team with varying expertise, influencing internal and external customers for mutually desirable outcomesTroubleshoot issues, make recommendations, and ensure problem resolution with the teamProvide technical support to the sales team in a detailed and timely mannerInterface with clients and job sites to document customer requirements and conditionsProvide and document customer designs based on client needs and site conditionsCollaborate with clients, architects, consultants, and staff throughout the design and delivery process with support from the SupervisorDevelop Statements of Work based on system design and customer requirementsCreate system design drawings, including audiovisual system diagrams, drawings, sketches, and specificationsDevelop accurate job cost estimatesProvide technical responses to customer RFPs/RFQs/RFIsMaintain complete and accurate project documentation and recordsCommunicate effectively with internal staff, clients, cooperative trades, and subcontractorsCoordinate and manage multiple system design projectsEnsure successful completion of assignments on time and within budgetDevelop and adhere to company technical standards and practicesFollow York-VCA policies and proceduresParticipate in transition activities for effective information transfer from pre-sales to implementation teamsCreate and implement test plans for York-VCA and customer lab solutionsPerform testing in lab environments emulating real-world conditionsAnalyze customer networks to determine visual communication requirementsSupport ad hoc and one-of-a-kind projectsCollaborate with manufacturers and vendors to identify current and future technologies for clientsPerform other duties as assignedSkills & AbilitiesStrong troubleshooting skills and ability to recommend solutions for technical issuesExcellent communication skills, especially in explaining complex technical information and responding to detailed inquiriesStrong discretion and judgment in handling confidential informationProficiency in using computers and MS Suite (Outlook, Project, Excel, Word)Ability to interface with clients, architects, consultants, and internal staffCapable of interpreting multiple formats of technical specifications, schematic drawings, and architectural diagramsStrong project coordination and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple system design projectsAttention to detail in maintaining accurate project documentation and recordsAbility to create detailed Scope of Work documents and system design drawingsSkilled in developing accurate job cost estimatesProficient in video network infrastructure commissioning and support processesKnowledge of audiovisual, videoconferencing, and IT products and applicationsFamiliarity with video and audio-conferencing service standardsDemonstrated or potential proficiency in AutoCAD, Visio, or similar diagrammatic softwareStrong presentation skills, especially in presenting technical solutions to executive-level audiencesKnowledge of York-VCA processes, as well as individual customer proceduresAbility to work with manufacturers and vendors to evaluate and select technologies for clientsWillingness to pursue additional training and certifications related to job performanceProblem-solving skills in analyzing customer networks and resolving visual communication issuesHigh levels of professionalism and integrityHigh ability to work with peersExceptional customer service skillsExceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skillsAlways maintain a professional attitude and appearanceEducation & QualificationsA degree in a related field such as audio engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science is beneficial but not requiredCertifications in specific AV systems, such as Crestron or AMX, are helpfulSeveral years of experience working with audiovisual equipment and systemsThorough understanding of AV systems, including design, installation, and troubleshootingExperience leading a team of technicians and managing projectsProficiency in creating project timelines and budgetsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to work well with clients to understand their needs and provide solutionsCombination of technical expertise, project management skills, and strong communication skillsAdditional RequirementsAbility to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
