Are you passionate about the maritime industry? We are seeking a skilled Sr. Facilities Engineer to join our team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Routinely inspecting each facility to identify potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and environmental requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to address their facility-related needs and provide solutions to optimize the use of space, equipment, and resources.
- Design, coordinate, and execute capital improvement projects.
- Track expenses and oversee the budget for capital improvements.
- Calculate and present cost-benefit analysis for individual capital improvement projects.
- Responsible for planning, execution, and subsequent reporting of large-scale maintenance, repair, and facility upgrades.
- Work with the Facilities staff to repair/replace broken concrete, bulkheads, docks, piers, buildings, and waterfront infrastructure.
- Ensure the facilities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Develop long-term Capex plans for each site with input to meet launch-term company financial goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven track record in managing facility budgets and resources.
- Organizational and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite and AutoCAD or equivalent.
- Ability to travel to other locations as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in managing maritime facilities.
- Knowledge of local building codes and environmental constraints and ability to work with government authorities and regulators.
- PE license is strongly preferred.
- Facilities Engineering a plus
Minimum Education:
- BS in Facilities Engineering Technology (FET) or BS in civil, mechanical, or structural engineering.
Work Environment Summary:
Applicant may be subject to environmental conditions such as cold, heat, exposure to noise, hazards, and confined spaces/close quarters. Applicant must be able to access all areas of the shipyard and company property including docks in all types of weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit/stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, use hands or fingers, talk, hear, see with close vision, and access confined spaces.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Must have the ability to move easily between buildings, ascend/descend ladders, and work outdoors in shipyards/marinas in all kinds of weather.
