KH Senior Event Specialist - Kettering Foundation
JOB SUMMARY:
As part of the Kettering Health Foundation (KHF) team the Senior Event Specialist will provide a broad range of
event planning support. This is a multi-facetted position that ensures creative positioning is in alignment with
strategy and reports on plans, progress, and performance metrics to KHF leadership. This position is directly
responsible for the development and growth of all the events of the KHF and working in a collaborative and
supportive manner with the Special Events team of KH as well as other departments within KHF. The position
works under the guidance and governance of the Director of Annual Funds.
The Senior Event Specialist is responsible for coordination of all KHF special events including researching,
planning, coordinating, implementing, and securing entry level sponsorships for all current and future KHF led
events and activities.
Event objectives are carried out through collaboration with other departments and service lines, vendors,
sponsors and outside organizations as needed. This position is responsible for assisting with KHF branding
through events marketing and advertising as well as coordinating and securing corporate sponsorships.
Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the general direction of the Director of Annual Funds, specific responsibilities include:
• Providing supervision as required for event staff and volunteers.
• Planning and managing events which includes contract negotiations, research, scheduling, coordination of
marketing, catering, security, staging, creating displays and visual aids, organizing timetables and files, and all
facets of invitations.
• Budgeting and financial management of corporate events.
• Specific management duties include staffing, evaluations, daily routines, assignment and monitoring of
projects and project counseling.
• Creates registration and landing pages for events.
• Liaison with MarCom on event marketing details and deliverables
• Carries a portfolio of entry level sponsors to cultivate relationships and solstice funding.

Minimum Education:
A bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, non-profit management, or equivalent relevant
experience required; that equate to 2 years for every 1 year of college education.
Minimum Work Experience:
Must have 5-10 years of experience in the field
Required Licenses:

Events certification or CFRE preferred
Required Skills
• Must possess excellent listening skills, and the ability to identify and solve issues in a timely, competent, and
creative manner.
• Must be able to work collaboratively with others to reach goals within the established deadlines and in a
manner that fosters support.
• Must be able to build relationships with event sponsors to secure gifts and meet or exceed revenue goals.
• Must be able to organize and manage multiple ongoing projects.
