About the Job
The Commercial Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial construction projects. They are also responisbile for overseeing the Project Managment of the projects. They will oversee projects from cradle to grave. This role involves analyzing project plans, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and collaborating with the PM team to ensure project success.

Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work and project requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with the project and develop mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop project schedules and ensure estimates align with project timelines.
- Prepare and present bid proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns and assumptions.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of costs and historical data to support accurate estimating.
- Track and analyze project costs and make recommendations for cost-saving measures.
- Participate in project handover meetings to ensure a smooth transition from pre-construction to project execution.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and post-bid reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating--retail project expeince is a bonus
- Proficiency in estimating software Procore and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to meet or exceed deadlines.
