What You'll Be Doing:
+ Participate with plant and CCC management in developing capital/investment projects for milling/grinding/pyroprocessing equipment; such as layout, process design, cost analysis and potential options. Be knowledgeable and up to date in new technologies available for cement manufacturing.
+ Conduct and consult with operations personnel with respect to improving and increasing the efficiency of raw material, coal and clinker grinding systems. Conduct and consult with operations with respect to clinker production, pyroprocessing process engineering (preheater, kiln & clinker cooler), refractory usage, burner development, environmental protection and alternative material/fuel usage to increase efficiencies, reduce energy costs and minimize downtime.
+ Perform data gathering and calculating of heat and mass balances on pyroprocessing and grinding equipment. From the information gathered, direct the engineers, both CCC and the plant, in proposing and implementing solutions to the inefficiencies discovered.
+ Assess plant processes to identify technical problems/limitations while developing cost effective technical and operational solutions to solve these issues with respect to the equipment, equipment modifications or process modifications.
+ Create specifications for the purchase of equipment and equipment modifications, review manufacturer’s equipment specifications and performance guarantees relative to requirements. Analyze and assist in selecting proper equipment to minimize environmental impact.
+ Lead commissioning, start-up, and performance testing of newly installed and/or modified equipment along with plant personnel.
+ Support the identification and mitigation of environmental issues during daily operations at cement facilities by providing technical solutions that ensure long-term compliance.
+ Assist in the development and delivery of training courses related to milling and grinding design, calculations, and heat balances for Kiln Engineers, Mill Engineers, Process Engineers, Engineers-in-Training, and other production personnel.
What Are We Looking For:
+ University/college degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
+ At least ten years of experience in process design engineering, employee training and practical field experience, in commissioning and plant auditing within the cement production industry.
+ Knowledge of cement chemistry, cement manufacturing, related processes and equipment.
+ Knowledge of quality control methods, laboratory equipment and calibration for ground materials in the cement industry.
+ Expertise in designing and sizing material transport, flow measurement, and dosing devices used in cement production.
+ Commitment to continuous improvement in process knowledge, measuring equipment, and cost optimization methods using international resources.
+ Willingness to travel.
+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team on complex issues using TQA tools
+ Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English.
