Duties: In this role, you will be responsible for the direction and preparation of lump sum, unit rate and cost-plus industrial construction cost estimates ranging from simple cost analysis to definitive estimates in support of proposals, project controls, prime contractor and subcontractor submittals and project change orders.
Required Estimating Experience in Facility Electrical Service discipline plus any of the following:
Instrumentation and Control
Heavy Mechanical and or Process Piping
Facility Civil/Structural
Software Skills:
Ranging from Microsoft Office Suite to PMIS Procore to Estimating Timberline or similar
Database Experience, one of the following:
RS Means
Richardson Cost Data
NECA Labor Units
MCAA Labor Calculator

Responsibilities:
Review contractual documents (specifications, ECN's, contractor RFI's) and determine contract modifications scope changes and their applicable cost.
Prepare clear detailed quantity takeoffs for specified scopes of work to assist Construction Manager, CM Advisor and Team members.
Prepare estimate details and summary using an estimating software; tabulating materials, process equipment, construction equipment, labor, OH&P
Obtain commercially available cost pricing from vendors, manufacturers, suppliers, and trade representatives.
Ability to work under a variety of timelines, establishing priorities to meet project deadlines.
Advanced ability to interpret Project Specifications with multiple Code references.
Calculate the cost of a TIA within base contract and congruent contract changes orders.
Review Contractor and Subcontractor change order cost proposals.
Assist in negotiation of change order costs.
Helps in the maintenance of the Company estimating database.
Provides technical advice and assistance to the Field Construction Manager, Deputy CM and CM Advisors in the preparation of all levels of estimates ranging in scope and complexity from a simple factored or curve type analysis estimate to an extremely complex mechanical and electrical changes.
Maintains familiarity with estimating and cost engineering developments and activities outside the company and assesses their significance, suggesting application to company business where warranted. Identifies and assesses improvement opportunities which will add value.
Assesses and supports the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.
Proactively supports, encourages, and facilitates staff to engage in continuous improvement activities.
Minimum Qualifications
8 to 20 years of relevant experience, including some estimating experience.
Field and/or project experience
Education: BS or MS graduate in Construction Management or related field is preferred, but not required.
Preferred Accreditations, one of the following:
AACE International
CCP (Certified Cost Professional
CEP (Certified Estimating Professional)
American Society of Professional Estimators CPE (Certified Professional Estimator)
All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
